The preferred working location for this role is the Medtronic facility located in Mounds View, Minnesota; however, the individual may also work remotely within the US or onsite at another US-based Medtronic facility.

A DAY IN THE LIFE• Architect, build, and test microservice-based applications, distributed computing, and high-performance computing in Global Cloud Infrastructure as a Service environment • Utilize test driven development practices to develop secure, scalable, highly available, and self-healing cloud infrastructure environments that leverage cloud native services • Execute DevOps CI/CD pipelines and maintain consistent environments across critical applications • Collaborate with development teams and internal stakeholders to specify operational characteristics and support of complex infrastructure • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to identify new technologies and tools to utilize on a go forward basis • Troubleshoot network and performance issues in large scale distributed systems • Drive change through new technology adoption and re-engineering where necessary to support continuous improvement • Facilitate collaboration, sharing, trust and cross-pollination of skills with other technologists, Product Owners, designers, and business units

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)• High school diploma (or equivalent) and 12+ years of experience
OR• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience or advanced degree and 5+ years of experience

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)• Strongly Preferred:
o Previous Medtronic experience
o 3+ years of hands-on experience in deploying and operating infrastructure components in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Azure Cloud
o Hands-on experience developing and maintaining CI/CD automation processes & pipelines
o Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) languages like CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, Terraform, etc.
o Experience writing scripts with Python 3.x and/or PowerShell • Hands-on experience in architecting and building Kubernetes infrastructure • Hands-on experience developing dashboards/alerting via CSP native and ELK tools • Experience managing cloud scalability or a mission critical environment • Azure and/or AWS Certification • Experience in deploying/managing software to on-premises, co-located, cloud, and hybrid cloud. • Experience with version control systems with Git such as Gitlab or Azure DevOps • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, DataDog, etc. • Working knowledge of security technologies in a large, distributed, containerized environment; RBAC, SAML, Kerberos, etc. • Well-developed social skills to build alliances around DevOps goals and accelerate processes.
