About the job
The Red Hat Enterprise Strategic Program Portfolio team is looking for a Principal IT Architect to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will oversee the implementation and delivery of complex programs, each requiring multiple overlaps and dependencies with its partner programs. You will participate as part of a highly cross-functional and collaborative team, leading and providing support to the top strategic programs across Red Hat. As a Principal IT Architect, you will play a key role in helping define the target state technical architecture for the capabilities within your purview, partnering heavily with other architects across the organization to ensure a seamless fit.
What you will do

  • Represent the partner portfolio as a technical architect and consultant within the Enterprise Strategic Program Portfolio team
  • Partner with the leadership of multiple partner-oriented organizations to understand key business objectives and pressures that relate to Red Hat's go-to-market strategy
  • Support and participate in prioritization and planning efforts that yield the partner ecosystem roadmap
  • Develop comprehensive future-state technical architectures based upon roadmap priorities, ensuring adherence to relevant enterprise standards and demonstrating excellence in areas like security, compliance, resilience, and integrations
  • Proactively identify opportunities to apply technology advances in technology to achieve priority business outcomes for partner-related teams; guide proofs ofs concepts and business case activities for selected areas of focus
  • Develop and maintain technical roadmap and as-is architectural views across all partner-related technical services
  • Support project management processes for priority strategic initiatives; assist in prioritization and sequencing of key work packages, dependency analyses, and risk identification and mitigation
  • Serve as a consultative point of contact to technical delivery teams for applications within the partner portfolio
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for how key information flows across technical services to support our partner functions
  • Participate in architectural review activities, evaluating impacts and adherence of other target architectures with a particular focus for their impact on partner-related capabilities
  • Contribute to the continued elevation of the architectural consulting discipline at Red Hat through coaching and mentoring activities


What you will bring

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 10+ years of experience working in consulting or architectural roles
  • Experience defining and maintaining strategies and business and technical roadmaps
  • Superior written and verbal presentation skills
  • Demonstrated mastery of focusing discussions and guiding decisions across non-technical and technical audiences
  • Expert-level problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to apply past experience to assess the impacts of change to other areas of the business
  • Record of success optimizing and transforming key marketing-related enterprise capabilities, including partner onboarding, partner certification, and partner data management
  • Record of successfully delivering solutions through the Salesforce.com (SFDC) ecosystem
  • Demonstrated leadership in providing solutions that require integration across multiple systems
  • Experience with the principles of agile development methodologies
  • Ability to balance the need for speed and innovation with ensuring solid foundations
  • Record of contributing back to consulting or architectural disciplines within and beyond employing organizations is a plus
  • Experience applying capability-based planning and prioritization techniques is a plus
