About the job
The Red Hat Products and Technologies (PnT) team is looking for an experienced Principal Agile Practitioner to join our Agility and Continuous Improvement engineering team. In this role, you will work closely with the best engineers and product managers in the open source community to create innovative technology for the next generation. You will work with teams that create operating systems and software tools to support our offerings. As an experienced professional, you will serve as a coach and champion of agile principles and continuous improvement in the organization. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Establish collaborative partnerships with cross-functional teams and the organization to help them in their journey of adopting agile methodology
  • Serve as an agile practitioner for distributed teams as needed, focusing on coaching the teams on agile values and practices and encouraging them to continuously improve
  • Ensure that new teams are supported through formation
  • Establish and support a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised
  • Define, publish, and educate the organization on key metrics that show the progress of the transformation effort
  • Support and educate product owners and product managers, especially with respect to maintaining the backlog of our offerings
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Develop metrics to measure to help improve team effectiveness, including dashboard reporting
  • Contribute to product roadmap planning, project scheduling, and release management
  • Introduce new ideas and processes to improve performance and productivity
  • Provide training for the team and program in an environment where agile concepts are new
  • Coach, train, and educate managers and leaders in agility and continuous improvement
  • Facilitate cross-team coordination through reaching out to the larger organization for impediment removal
  • Maintain and use the latest industry trends in agile methodologies


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Demonstrated record of delivering software offerings to production and coaching teams and programs at varying maturity levels using agile and lean methods
  • Data-driven analysis skills for measuring and managing delivery
  • Excellent facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to inspire change at all levels
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Jira, Trello, or open source agile life cycle management tooling
  • Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) qualifications, or equivalent training
  • Knowledge of the Red Hat's offerings, Linux operating system, open source software development, and application container technology is a plus
