Position Summary

Provide leadership and consultation to advance the effectiveness of the company's Corporate Compliance and Business Conduct Program, with focus on enterprise policies and compliance risk assessments. Develop and implement strategies, plans and metrics to support the continuance of a mature compliance and ethics program.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for applying specialist knowledge in evaluating existing policies on a regular cadence and serving as project manager to update policies in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for identifying policy gaps, potential impact of the gap and development of new policies. Serves as primary resource for policy questions and interpretations. Partners with Communications group on strategic policy messages to the organization.
  • Implement and oversee compliance risk assessment. Accountable for maturing the Company's compliance risk frameworks and associated on-going governance.
  • Maintain and enhance the company's compliance and ethics training plan. Source, develop and manage customized training materials, including coordination with training organizations and decentralized subject matter experts. Analyze training survey results, develop action plans and close gaps. Monitor training completion to ensure 100 percent completion by due dates.
  • Serve as consultant to company leaders that have responsibility for compliance and ethics. Monitor laws, regulations and best practices; provide research; facilitate risk assessments; develop processes and deploy plans to support Program objectives, changes in company policies and emerging compliance requirements. Collect, analyze and interpret data to identify trends and potential gaps. Identify and implement tracking systems that provide enterprise visibility for analysis and compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Develop and coordinate a communications plan to support achievement of program objectives through a variety of communications channels to reach internal and external stakeholders. Develop communications materials, including draft presentations to a variety of audiences such as the board of directors' audit committee, and the Corporate Compliance and Business Conduct Council.
  • Partner with internal areas to achieve Program objectives. Complete other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in business, human resources, law or related field, or combination of education and related experience providing equivalent knowledge.
  • At least six years relevant experience in leadership, project management, consulting, business planning, analysis, training and/or communications.
  • Advanced ability to recommend new policies or amendments and prepare draft versions.
  • Advanced knowledge of conventions and standards in policy writing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence the actions of internal stakeholders and manage relationships with external stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Broad knowledge of utility industry laws and regulations, experience in compliance and ethics or legal services field
  • Advanced degree and/or certifications.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $87,000 to $123,666 per year
