This position is responsible for maintaining multiple systems and Service Level Agreements (SLA) focused on System Availability, Capacity Management, Access Management, Disaster Recovery and Performance Monitoring requirements for internally hosted custom and vendor databases. Recommends and implements new or modified technology while coordinating with end users, data warehouse developers, DBA's, System Architects and Change/Release Manager. Troubleshoots issues with applications with developers and vendors during outages. Helps audit performance, recommends changes, and helps guide developers to understand their code impacts to the current technology ecosystem and implement best practices as needed. Assists in the implementation and administration of new Azure cloud-based platforms. Collaborates in the design of data architecture frameworks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages application licensing working with application owners
  • Responsible for promotion of application code through development environments to production
  • Monitors system performance and coordinates necessary upgrades or modification with related teams and resources
  • Manages product upgrades and associated relevant activities including collaborating with end users on appropriate timing and cascading effects of upgrades, etc.
  • Manages system access via established processes, i.e. Active Directory
  • Coordinates overnight job runs for data refreshes via established processes, i.e. Control-M
  • Participates in 24/7 On-call rotation (managing/troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Establishes patterns and maintains technical documentation of systems and processes consistent with Enterprise strategy
  • Communicates pertinent information to the user base as necessary and in a timely manner
  • Coordinates with third-party vendors and offshore support as necessary
  • Maintains knowledge and skills of/with SQL Query Development
  • Maintains understanding of software and hardware requirements of varied departmental systems
  • Maintains understanding of the workflow and process requirements of complex application systems
  • Troubleshoots complex, non-standard issues and requests involving code promotions, processes, system function, performance, and dataset and user access for multiple systems.
  • Works with multiple departments at several levels to identify risk, coordinate changes in a timely fashion
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology or related (4 additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree)
  • 4+ years of systems administration, data architecture management, database administration and/or application development experience
  • 3+ years Azure cloud administration experience
  • 3+ years Tableau administration
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, developing and optimizing efficient, well performing queries
  • Experience with network monitoring tools like WhatsUp Gold
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service, be a good listener and work well with others
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving experience
  • Hands on experience in process automation, best practice approach, technology efficiency, and effectiveness


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Full-stack development experience
  • Experience with Active Directory management
  • Experience with performance tuning tools and/or techniques
  • Familiarity with managing one or more of the following applications in a Windows Server environment (Tomcat, JAVA, SSRS/PowerBI, BizTalk, QlikView, Denodo Data Virtualization, .net)
  • Expert knowledge in both real-time and batch Data ingestion, Data Processing and Data Consumption optimization
  • Experience with source code repositories like GitHub
  • Experience with SSIS and ETL best practices.
  • PowerShell or other scripting language experience
  • Familiarity with enterprise job scheduling tools
  • Professional Industry Certification(s) in Database Administration, Architecture or Development
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving capabilities with special attention to accuracy and detail
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to take ownership of job responsibilities and ensure successful completion of all projects and requests
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management both technical and non-technical
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, high volume environment

  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
  • Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000.
