Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Operations Manager to oversee our company's payroll operations. The Payroll Operations Manager's duties include coordinating special payroll activities, and collaborating with People and Accounting teams. The selected candidate must have great attention to detail, be self- motivated  and be able to interact professionally with employees, managers, and executives. A successful candidate should possess strong communication skills, team-oriented personality, have great attention to detail while keeping the bigger picture in mind, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Evaluates current processes to identify areas of improvement and implements changes where appropriate to increase efficiency across the payroll and benefits department
  • Manage payroll processing of the stock compensation program including equity RSU, PSU, NQSO, etc., and related reporting
  • Manage ESPP reporting and work with Equity team to ensure accuracy in employee deductions and purchases
  • Work with vendors,internal stakeholders and partners to build, modify, test, and migrate to production as needed; perform audits and controls
  • Keep apprised of tax laws and regulations that affect equity compensation
  • Support management on ad hoc and growth-oriented projects such as scalability initiatives
  • Partner with cross functional teams such People, Tax, Audit, and Legal
  • Be the backup for the Manager, Payroll Processing
  • Oversee the payroll accounting to include journal entries, month end related activities, and account reconciliations
  • Research payroll accounting discrepancies or abnormalities, and communicate findings to finance
  • Responsible for approving payroll adjustments, reconciliation of corresponding ledger accounts, and approving necessary journal entries
  • Assist as needed with payroll year end, budget, audit, and GL requests; serve as backup for payroll tax filing and reporting
  • Assists in resolving issues relating to payroll production
  • Assist Accounting team with annual and internal audit relating to payroll processes, reconciliations and sampling
  • Partners with Accounting team to coordinate the payroll entries to the general ledger and reconcile payroll related accounts
  • Ability to think strategically and support business objectives, while effectively balancing risk/reward trade-offs.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years experience processing multi-state payroll
  • Proficiency in ADP WorkforceNow, Google Workspace, and Excel
  • Extensive knowledge and staying current on all payroll related laws and regulations
  • International employee payroll experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various types of equity awards and programs including RSU and ESPP
  • General knowledge of accounting standards/procedures and federal, state, and local rules/regulations
  • Demonstrates outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and technical ability
  • Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Experience with ETRADE, Fidelity PSW, and Netsuite

Nice to have:

  • Experience with BambooHR, ETRADE, Fidelity PSW, and Netsuite preferred
  • Bachelor Degree
  • APA Certifications
