The Opportunity

Homebase is searching for a Payment Poster to join our Revenue Cycle Services team, driving best in class revenue cycle outsourcing. As the Payment Poster, you will be responsible for the expedient and accurate posting of payments received for Home Health and Hospice services.

The Challenge

At Homecare Homebase, we help home health and hospice organizations across the nation overcome the business and technological challenges that stand in the way of patient care and efficiency. As the Home Health and Hospice Payment Poster, you will play an essential role in the revenue cycle of our customers, providing them with up to date, accurate, accounts receivables.

What We're Looking For

Homecare Homebase's mission is to empower exceptional care among all the clients we serve. The Home payment poster supports this mission by providing accurate and timely posting of payments received from Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial Insurance, and Self-Pay funding sources.

Job Responsibilities

  • Payment Entry:
  • Completes payment entry in a timely and accurate manner including:
  • Posts payments to HCHB accounts receivable within 24 hours of receipt
  • Records batch totals daily, balancing to deposit register
  • Verifies all received payments have been posted correctly by month end
  • Properly communicates with the billing department, and documents payment denials in the HCHB accounts receivable in a timely manner
  • Identifies any payments not being paid at the allowed/contracted amount and communicates this to the appropriate billing representative - Billing Manager and/or Director
  • Batches patient statements electronically on a monthly or as needed basis
  • Department Coverage:
  • Cross trained to provide department coverage for billing specialists
  • Maintains professional knowledge regarding medical billing and coding procedures, insurance carriers, federal, and state programs, etc.



Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two years of medical billing experience required
  • Candidates must be able to work with high volume of work while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills required to operate practice management system (e.g. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, etc.)
  • Homecare Homebase experience a plus
  • Home Health and/or Hospice experience a plus
