Business Summary:

The MultiCloud Partner Strategy team within the Worldwide Partner and Commercial Organization at VMware is looking for a Partner Strategy Specialist to accelerate partner traction with VMware Cloud by becoming an expert in performance metrics and creating a systematic way to organize the metrics monthly, quarterly and across time periods. VMware Cloud has an ecosystem of Cloud Partners where VMware's technology innovates to build, run, manage and secure applications across clouds with VMware Cross-Cloud™ services.This role will need to understand how the technology works, and how our customers use it, and how our partners sell it.The partner ecosystem encompasses different types of partners who sell through different routes to market includingSolution Providers, Resellers, , Cloud Managed Service Providers, Cloud Marketplaces, System Integrators, Strategic Outsourcing organizations, and Hyperscalers. Therefore, the candidate will not only need to be familiar with the technology and cloud providers but also understand the overall partner ecosystem and how it works to drive VMware's cloud strategy in conjunction with functional business leaders, RTM sales leaders, and business units.

Job Description:

The Partner Strategy Specialist will report directly to the Senior Director of the MultiCloud Partner Strategy team and will also work with and at the direction of other managers on the team.The ideal candidate will need to report on various metrics which include pipeline, bookings, registrations, enablement, consumption, marketing development funding impacts and other elements and metrics related to unique programs.This role will also require the creation of presentations and internal and external partner communications.The ideal candidate will be expected to look at metrics and be able tointerpret trends in order to make business & strategy suggestions alongside the other strategy managers on the team.

Job Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Organize reporting on partner pipeline & bookings (along with many other metrics described above) andcreate alignment when needed for unique programs
  • Be able to collectively organize partner centric presentations inclusive of data points
  • Support internal partner-facing roles & drive improvements to processes, tools, and analytics
  • Strategize with all partner stakeholders to improve partner experience
  • Build resources, analyze data, and manage communications that enable partner role productivity globally working closely with the GEOs and corporate functions such as Operations, Finance, Marketing, Enablement, and Human Resources.
  • Work closely with CIBG Marketing on ensuring content and campaigns are up to date on internal websites and partner portals.
  • Appropriately communicate with and leverage internal resources and team members cross functionally to move the processes and programs forward.
  • Develop and maintain high-level of fluency in VMware Cloud's Partner Platform functionality, ability to demonstrate feature/function in engaging manner to both technical and business audiences.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 2-3 years of experience in a technology capacity with a concentration in partner ecosystems & channel
  • 1+ years experience or exposure to the public Cloud ecosystem; including, but not limited to knowledge on the following: VMware Cloud, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform
  • Excellent knowledge and ability in utilizing Excel, PowerPoint and other tools including Tableau, Smartsheet, Salesforce etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required.
  • Experience in the execution of a partner enablement programs, especially in support of Cloud Solution Providers, Managed Services Providers, and Global SI's, and supporting teaming efforts with partners that include resell, services, sell-with and sell-through partner motions
  • Experience working a cross functional & highly matrixed organization.
  • Ability to travel as needed, expected 15%.
  • Bachelors degree required

Where is this role located?

Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable commute of the office.

This job may require the candidate to travel and/or work from a facility that requires full vaccination prior to entry.
