ON-SITE IN SFO: M-F 9:00 am - 5:00 pm PST

Who you are:

Degree in biological sciences, molecular biology, or related field

NGS experience (e.g.: whole genome, NIPS, panels, hyb-capture)

4+ years experience in a laboratory setting, preferably involving high-volume, automated processes

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience. Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

Ability to learn processes and outcomes related to the data analysis as it relates to the assigned product

Excellent ability to communicate technical concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences

Advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and problem solve complex issues that may impact test performance, experience finding the context and information needed through relationships across the organization

What You’ll Do:

Acquire proficient, end-to-end understanding of assay chemistry and automation throughout the lab processing

Monitor and report on operations performance and recommend actionable improvements when necessary in collaboration with the Continuous Improvement, Operations, and Technical Leads

Work with the Continuous Improvement lead in problem escalation and incident resolution, identify areas of risk, diagnose problems, and lead cross functional troubleshooting activities in coordination with key stakeholders from Production, Automation, Equipment, R&D, and Bioinformatics/Data Analysis teams

Function as a technical resource for Trainers in developing training and troubleshooting materials, and provide metric-based data to Trainers and the Technical Leads to routinely assess thoroughness of assay level training programs

Aid production leadership in decision making to meet turn-around time and sample quality performance expectations

Advise production leads on risk to launch timelines or capacity projections

In collaboration with R&D, Laboratory Operations, and Supply Chain, support the implementation and post-launch activities for new products to ensure that they meet production standards

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with LDTs and/or automated systems

Working knowledge of lean six sigma principles and tools (e.g. FMEA, Kaizen, RCA)

Experience in an ISO 13485/15189, GMP, GLP and or CAP/CLIA/NYS environment, working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations

Experience in assay development, bringing new assays from assay development into production, or change management

Clinical laboratory experience

California Pay Range

$91,900$114,800 USD
