OPERATIONS OFFICER


WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?



Responsible for assisting the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager with directing, developing, managing and motivating colleagues involved in back office operations and ensuring the operational integrity of assigned function and adherence to Bank policies and procedures. Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers and providing exemplary customer service. This is typically a first line "assistant" supervisor position that focuses on providing technical oversight to assigned staff while gaining supervisory experience.


Banking and Investment Services Division
As a member of City National's Banking & Investment Services group, you will be part of the essential central operations and back-end hub for all of the bank's lines of business.


WHAT WILL YOU DO?



  • Oversees the daily activities of assigned functional area; prioritizing; completing multiple activities; resolves problems as they arise.
  • Actively tracks team productivity to ensure output is at required levels and Service Level Agreements are met.
  • Leads and guides employees; motivates, trains and coaches colleagues.
  • Identifies training needs and ensures proper colleague training.
  • Ensures activities are in compliance with legal/regulatory requirements and CNB policy and procedure.
  • Proactively identifies and recommends new/proposed policies and procedures as they relate to operations issues/opportunities; assists in the implementation of new processes and procedures.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of systems, functions and procedures to identify and resolve quality issues to ensure overall team quality
  • Has signing authority for approving deposits, transfers, and/or other operational work within approved limits.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.
  • Provides exceptional customer service and serves as resource to internal and external customers.
  • Ensures assigned employees are in compliance with specified CNB compliance guidelines.
  • Clearly communicates ideas and concepts both orally and in writing.
  • Provides input into human resources issues; may assist in performing human resource duties, including hiring, firing, performance reviews.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

  • City National Securities Roles:
    • Requires a Series 99 license
  • Broker Dealer Operations experience preferred
  • Opens new accounts
  • Responsible for account maintenance
  • Filing
  • Archiving
  • Report Distribution
  • Reports call back
  • Floater


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must-Have*

  • H.S. Diploma
  • Minimum of two years experience in Banking Services or related function.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to perform functional duties and related positions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of Bank personnel and customers; excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal/customer service skills; knowledge of regulatory requirements and bank policies and procedures.
  • PC skills required.
  • Ability to handle problem situations with colleagues and clients effectively.
