e are currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our team supporting our client in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Primary responsibility is to provide leadership and direction for the efficient operations and maintenance of all facility electrical, mechanical, structural, and life safety systems according to the client's specifications and to apprise the Facility Manager of any and all conditions affecting building services. The specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to staffing, training and development, purchasing, customer satisfaction, staff productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management support to the building engineers having the responsibility for day-to-day operations and maintenance of the building support systems (heating, ventilation, electrical distribution system, plumbing, fire suppression system, etc.)
  • Provides oversight of staff, with input on selection, counseling, appraisals and recognition; recommending salary, promotional, disciplinary, termination, and other personnel actions.
  • Oversees training and support aimed at expanding the capabilities of the operations and maintenance staff.
  • Provides contract compliance management and quality control.
  • Manage operations, maintenance and capital improvements of all Life Safety, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Plumbing, HVAC.
  • Complete Engineering and Operations Audit for code compliance relative to all maintenance process and procedures.
  • Understands the engineering design and operational aspects of building systems and equipment.
  • Must be able to recognize system/building shortcomings and respond to operational and emergency situations.
  • Prepare and submit purchase orders requests, performing periodic checks of inventory levels and equipment conditions.
  • Determine preventive maintenance scheduling intervals and work to maintain, update and improve the operational efficiency of the CMMS system.
  • Analyze equipment downtime ramification and develops Emergency Response Action Plans (ERAP) in the event of equipment failure.
  • Ensure that proper engineering procedures and standards are being practiced and maintained.
  • Develop and deliver training methods, materials and programs relative to building operating standards.
  • Provide assistance to the management and the maintenance staff in dealing with local, State and Federal code requirements and their implementation.
  • Manages safety compliance and systems training for the maintenance staff.
  • Ensure all environmental conditions meet all codes and standard.
  • Performs other duties as required to meet clients' objectives.

Qualifications

  • Education - Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. On the job experience (4+ years of experience in management of facility/plant engineering).
  • This role will entail the ability to work 1st or 2nd shift
  • Managerial experience with superior people skills.
  • Must have ability to respond to after-hour emergencies, as needed.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
  • Strong technical knowledge in electrical systems, mechanical systems, HVAC, local, state, and national codes, environmental regulations, fire and safety skills.
  • Must be proficient in computer applications and software such as MS Office Suite, BMS, EMS, CMMS, etc.
  • For internal candidates, must constantly receive a rating of "good" or higher over the past three years.
