WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Perform a variety of skilled/unskilled work in the operation, maintenance, and grounds keeping of the Lake Gaston Water Supply Project.
Nature & Scope-Principal Areas of Responsibilities:
• Operate 120 HP John Deer Tractor with 10 foot bushhog to cut vegetatation on a 76 mile pipeline
• Operate lawnmower to maintain two substations, six river crossings, a Weir structure and site security.
• Conduct water sampling
• Monitor SCADA on the computer
• Identify and report the need for equipment repairs
• Follows proper health and safety standards.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education/Equivalent:
• High School/GED
Work Experience Needed:
• One year experience in building and grounds maintenance
Special Skills/Abilities Needed:
• Safey operate lawn mowers (riding zero turn), bush hogging (Tractor Operator), weed eater, and other small hand/power tools as needed.
• They must have a valid driver's license.
• Thorough knowledge of health and safety standards and precautions pertaining to utilities operations and maintenance procedures.
• Strong desire to establish and maintain effective working relationships, teams, and work groups with other employees, contractors and the general public.
• Strong ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and effectively communicate with others.
• Thorough knowledge and the ability to use computers and applications for the utility profession.
