The Associate Network Engineer role will be part of Corporate Network Operations team. 

Primary responsibilities of the role will be to work at the lead of senior Netops team members and provide Day to day Network operations support and perform Network maintenance as required. 

This role is an individual contributor works closely NetOps, Enterprise IT Engineers, DevOps and Information Security Operations on supporting and monitoring of network systems.#LI-IB1

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work in collaboration with the Senior team members, the Associate Network Engineer will provide Network Operations Services for Corporate Firewalls, Route gears, Switches, Wireless Network and VPN services.
  • Identify, design, and implement network devices, including, but not limited to, Routers, Switches, VPN & WIFI.
  • Role will provide support and troubleshoot, break/fix repairs, monitoring of production Network environments.
  • Monitor the Network support queue, self-assign tickets from the queue, contact Customers as needed to collect additional information, work on tickets and update tickets with timely and descriptive commentary of details, issues, troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Escalate tickets with informative steps taken within Senior Netops or Enterprise IT Staff or the appropriate support group as required.
  • Responsible for Install, Repair, or replace switches, Firewalls, and access points including working with other engineers for server room equipment, port activations, port level troubleshooting, uplink troubleshooting etc.
  • Work on projects as assigned, ability to design and document and work with network vendors.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting complex Local Area Networking (LAN) issues and resolving Wide Area Networking (WAN)
  • Experience in routing and switching technologies including but not limited to, BGP, OSPF, and layer 3 applications.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Layer 2 technologies
  • Role will be part of on-call duties to support after hour emergency Network issues as assigned
  • Some travel may be required

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of proven experience in a network administrator role, managing and building a complex network.
  • Hands-on configuration and operational knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco switches and routers, Aruba wireless, best practices around management, control, and monitoring of network infrastructure.
  • Solid knowledge of general LAN, WAN, VPN, Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies
  • Solid knowledge/experience with certificates/Identity Management Provider/AAA.
  • Experience setting up and maintaining SNMP/NetFlow/Network monitoring/alerting system.
  • Experience with enterprise-class hardware (Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba etc.)
  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. OSPF, BGP).
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced technical environment with increasing support demands and complexity.
  • Ability to multitask and manage assigned tasks to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Ability to complete complex projects with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Networking or Equivalent Experience with CCNP & A+ Certifications.
  • 5-8 years of experience working on IT Enterprise Networking Engineering.
  • 5 years or more providing network engineering support in Corporate environment.
  • Related network certifications are a plus. (e.g. CCNA, PCNSA, Network+, CCNP)
