PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Network Administrator for Unified Communication will possess the experience and skills to support and maintain in a role within the Exelon IT organization by providing operational technical insights to stakeholders, regarding the secure, networking solutions being deployed within the enterprise/real-time environments. Must possess ability to monitor and maintain fundamental networking initiatives and projects, within these secure environments.

The Network Administrator will be expected to provide technical expertise to support the secure delivery and maintenance of network solutions supporting Exelon. Must have the ability to evaluate network/telecom services and make recommendations for supporting infrastructure service, application and data workloads within various hosting models. Demonstrate skills for basic monitoring, configuration and maintenance of current network services and related security controls, to primarily support site-based connectivity and real time control environments. This role will work in collaboration with other IT teams, their leadership, enterprise business partners, vendors and project/design teams, in all aspects of the secure & reliable network services serving as transport for services/applications throughout Exelon's large and complex enterprise and real time operational environments.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support projects, planning, maintenance and operations.
  • Supporting the Unified communication changes, break fix and troubleshoot providing excellence
  • Work closely with peers to develop future improvement plans, resource requirements, migrations strategies, and project schedules. Understand other technologies and service offerings and their impact to the delivery of secure enterprise or real-time network environments.
  • Provide evaluation, testing, lab and mockup solutions as needed. Serve as a resource in assigned daily support and deployments to operations and ensure solutions meet business requirements and operational metrics (SLA's). Responsible for operating and maintaining solutions at the component level, including hands-on configuration, troubleshooting and metrics for the secure network environments.
  • Provide feedback to peers for risks identified during business impact analysis, site risk assessments and disaster recovery planning.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and business acumen within our own discipline or function.


Qualifications

POSITION SCOPE

  • Position interacts with all levels of employees, including executives, vendors, involved in performance, maintenance, review, approval, testing and communication of business plans and services.
  • Position has expertise in Microsoft Teams, Cisco Voice (Call Manager), Avaya Voice System and or Oracle technologies
  • Position has expertise in Video Conference system
  • Position has hands-on competency in platform or application area of expertise, and tools/systems associated with these functions.
  • Work under supervision and oversight.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science or related field) and 2-5 years relevant experience (network/telecom support) or 6- 9 years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least one operational domain such as route/switch, LAN/WAN, WiFi, firewalls
  • Ability to travel domestically
  • 24/7 on-call rotational duties


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification in area of expertise
  • Certification in area Cisco Voice, Avaya Voip and Microsoft Teams
  • Expertise in Cisco Video Conference and integration with Microsoft Teams
