A Typical Day
The Business Controls Specialist assists in the development of a mortgage centric compliance program that contemplates current regulatory requirements and industry standards. As the Controls Specialist, you will act as a liaison between CLG and internal/external partners and provide recommendations on policies and procedures across all Fulfillment functions.
The Business Controls Specialist will:

  • Perform multiple compliance reviews with varying degrees of difficulty as needed
  • Assist in the management of 3rd party reviews as applicable
  • Assist with policy & procedure updates
  • Identify areas of opportunity based on trends identified within test results
  • Maintain knowledge of Policies and Procedures within tested Line of Business & ongoing internal training within allotted time frame
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
  • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values

What You'll Bring
Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in management reporting, developing policies & procedures, dealing with complexity, problem solving, legal compliance, knowledge of Reg Z, Reg X & Dodd Frank.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with regulatory requirements (ECOA Regulation B, HMDA Regulation C)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with investor guidelines (FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance or related field or applicable direct industry experience
  • Demonstrates expertise in a variety of Industry concepts, practices & procedures.
  • Demonstrate ability to plan and execute stated goals
  • Basic software proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Task Management/Execution - Demonstrates ability to advance multiple priority assignments independently, concurrently and within established deadlines
  • Innovation - Willing to think analytically and creatively in solving day to day challenges of the job
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment

Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:

  • Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role
  • Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role
  • Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role


Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
