Aerospace is seeking an innovative leader to support future architecture development and integration in the Missile Warning (MW) mission area within the Multi-Domain Awareness area of the Capability Integration Division.
The Systems Director is responsible for leading Aerospace efforts to support and advise the USSF MW Capability Integrator across critical architecture, specification, and mission integration activities for the future MW enterprise, including the transition of multiple programs of record and related demonstrations, prototypes, and projects across Government Program Offices and Aerospace Divisions. This role will require collaboration with the Space Systems Command (SSC) Architect, the SSC Development Corps, and other agencies to evaluate new concepts, architectures, resiliency initiatives, requirements, and technology investments. The role will also require working with other mission areas to help the integration across the Space Enterprise with other Government and Aerospace teams doing work in these mission areas.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partner with the US Space Force MW Capability Integrator with a focus on future architectural concepts, technology development and insertion, and evaluation of prototypes and demonstrations in the mission area
- Provide senior technical guidance within teams of Government, Aerospace, support contractors, and other FFRDC personnel to monitor mission area efforts, identify technical and performance integration risks, and develop strategic roadmaps for the MW mission area
- Provide technical leadership in identify mitigations to emerging warfighter threats, analyze needed MW capabilities and associated architectures, and advise on acquisition strategies for programs, demonstrations, prototypes, and enabling technologies that will support those future architectures
- Collaborate with the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Space Development Agency (SDA), and other external agencies to ensure cross-organizational architectures are aligned
- Build and maintain a highly capable and diverse workforce through hiring, staff performance reviews, career development, and mentoring
- Report on the organization's activities, progress, and achievements through written and oral reports
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or related technical discipline
- 12 or more years of relevant scientific/engineering experience that includes technical and mission assurance experience for large and complex systems
- Experience defining, leading, and executing projects or programs in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
- Demonstrated management, exceptional leadership, and team building skills, and the ability to foster effective relationships with Government customers and their contractors
- Demonstrated ability to lead concept development, architecture studies, and evaluation of resiliency initiatives
- Ability to work across multiple Aerospace and customer organizations as needed to achieve results
- Active TS/SCI clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

- Working knowledge of Aerospace Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) skills and capabilities
