Position Summary:
A Meter Tech I works to test single and poly phase power consumption meters that are returned from the field, and acceptance test new meters through a random sample process. This individual also assists with cleaning and packing meters that need to be shipped to regional locations for installation. A Meter Tech I may also be trained to assist in other areas of the meter lab as needed, including the meter warehouse, tool repair, and modem assembly, and transformer processing.

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Sort, process, and testing single and poly phase meters
- Box and palletize meters
- Operate folk lift if needed
Basic/Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Electronics or electrical engineering from accredited institution.
- Prior metering or other related utility experience.
- Self-motivated, hard worker, with desire to learn in a fast-paced setting.
- Flexible and ready to perform multiple duties depending on priority.
- Repairing knowledge of communication equipment (modems, routers, etc.)
- Proficient using Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Prior experience with telecommunications devices (ie. Wireless, Cellular, Power Line Carrier)
- Demonstrated problem solving and general troubleshooting skills
Working Conditions:
- Lab/shop/warehouse environment
- Safety is imperative
- May be required to work in storm restoration efforts
- Require wearing of PPE
