With a minimal setup time of only a few minutes, it offers a quicker and more simplified means of meeting your specific educational needs, allowing physicians to focus on what matters most.DescriptionThe "remote surgery" market is still nascent, and many stakeholders, both suppliers and providers, are not fully aware of the benefits of remote technology, namely cost, product adoption, and clinical outcomes. As part of the GHX team (Explorer team), the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) has an integral role in developing this market. You will play a highly visible role, building scientific partnerships with Healthcare professionals/Key Opinion Leaders and decision makers through evidence-based scientific exchange activities.The primary purpose of this role is establishing and maintaining peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs (clinicians, physicians, surgeons, patient care teams, operating room, and outpatient staff), and developing those relationships to increase demand in both the supplier and provider communities. The MSL will maintain medical oversite and provide education and training, workflow optimization, and clinical data insights using metrics to drive best practices. This position will focus on clinical performance as a means to optimize training, reduce variability, and assist with preserving patient outcomes. The MSL will transform learning into a more collaborative, personalized, and empowering experience, one created to foster a safe environment.The MSL will be responsible for staying up to date with the most recent evidence related to targeted specialty areas, specific procedures and surgeries, competitive insights, FDA, DOJ, and regulatory body updates, and details related to the assigned Explorer product. They will be responsible for effectively communicating their findings, conducting detail studies, and responding to unsolicited questions during customer engagements and conferences. The MSL is encouraged to lead, and to collaborate, in the publishing of scientific abstracts for key conferences and manuscripts meant for peer-reviewed journals.It is the duty of the MSL to stay current regarding the medical literature so as to understand and incorporate relevant health-related economic insights to external and internal shareholders.Key Responsibilities
- Fostering the exchange of clinical information to raise specialty/procedure and product awareness among healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other medical professionals
- Develop KOL engagement plans, mapping, and the medical strategy as a whole
- Administer medical support to the Brand Franchise team and establish Advisory Boards, an Editorial Board, and a Public Relations program.
- Contribute as an early member of the MSL program in meeting goals and objectives, and participating in hiring and training field team members
- Develop content and provide assistance with white paper/case studies detailing Explorer Surgical safety and efficiency
- Develop a Conference and Society Coverage plan that aligns with the goals of the Brand Franchise team
- Develop tools such as PowerPoint slides and training materials for internal and external use
- Coordinating company sponsored research
- Delivering scientific presentations at different venues to execute objectives pertinent to our Business
- Present market development findings and KOL case studies to the supplier community, driving demand and awareness
- Heighten awareness of disease management/surgical practices and guidelines to our associated healthcare providers and external partners
- Uncover and share competitive intelligence in a timely and appropriate manner
- The role will include up to 70% US travel, focused on all regions of the United States
Qualifications -Experience and Education
- MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, RN, or NP
- 3 to 5 years of clinical/surgical experience in cardiology and/or neuroscience
- 2 to 3 years previous MSL experience preferred but not required
- The ability to understand, process, communicate, and present scientific information at a high standard
- Ability to identify unmet medical, educational, and research needs within the medical/surgical community
- Clear comprehension of scientific principles and evidence-based practice
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to simultaneously prioritize multiple working streams
- Ability to read and analyze scientific research papers
- Strategical critical thinking and analytical skills
- Demonstrate external customer focus with strong networking capabilities and integration with KOLs
- Capacity to maintain the highest ethical standards, with a working knowledge of relevant clinical regulations and industry standards
Estimated salary range: $118,200-$157,500The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX's total compensation package for employees.
