Med Technologist I
GeneralSummary of Position:
- Performs routine and specialized assays and provides technical advice and information in one or more of several clinical laboratory scientific specialties to provide data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
- Analyzes body fluids, cells and products to identify abnormal and critical disorders associated with disease processes. Serves as a knowledge expert and technical consultant in the specialty area(s).
Education:
- A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field; or a M.D degree is required. However, these degree requirements are waived for high school (or equivalent)graduates who have successfully completed an official military training of at least 50 weeks duration, and who have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician).
Experience:
- Less than one month of previous job experience.
License/Certification/Registration:
- None required for this position.
