Lyft is looking for a Marketing Business Operations Manager, reporting to the Marketing Chief of Staff and sitting within the Marketing Strategy & Business Operations team (S&O). S&O directly supports the VP of Marketing, the broader marketing organization and cross-functional partners with strategic marketing planning, strategic analysis, and market and competitive insights to ensure that Marketing is best positioned to deliver against our ambitious brand strategy and aggressive business goals. 

As Business Operations Manager, you are a motivated and adaptable operator and will drive critical cross-functional efforts. Successful candidates will be collaborative, demonstrate the ability to work with a variety of stakeholder groups, drive execution of cross-functional processes, have strong written and oral communication, and have the skills to onboard quickly, identify process improvements and lead those improvements to completion. You will oversee the Marketing budget and resourcing strategy, drive critical people processes, and own internal communications for the marketing organization, ensuring we optimize the use of our financial and people resources to deliver against our ambitious brand strategy and aggressive business goals. This role will be both highly collaborative, working with a diverse array of marketing teams and cross-functional partners, as well as highly analytical in managing the financial health and performance of the Lyft Marketing organization.


Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and support marketing team leads in planning, optimizing, and managing their annual and quarterly budgets
  • Work closely with Lyft’s Finance organization and FP&A partners in ensuring optimal forecasting and accurate tracking
  • Identify and implement improvements to leadership cadence: reporting, decision making, review process, etc. Partner with teams prior to reviews to ensure that the quality of material leverages the team’s time and ensures the best decisions are made.
  • Identify and implement reporting, in partnership with the Marketing Analytics team, to measure marketing performance, build dashboards with Science partners to improve visibility and make analytical, data driven decisions.
  • Establish strong relationships and serve as point of contact with cross functional teams, and other internal and external resources as appropriate.
  • Serve as primary point of contact with HR Business Partners, manage Human Resources process including headcount tracking, recruiting tracking and prioritization, HR-related communications 
  • Serve as primary point of contact for internal communications partners, own development of content for team All Hands, team slack communications, and information cascade to team 

Experience:

  • 4+ years experience in management consulting, finance, business operations, or other hands-on experience with budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and project management. Marketing experience a plus, but not required.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets, ideally including the Google Suite of products
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to be effective across functions, teams, and organizational levels 
  • Appetite to dig into the details and find the business insights in numbers
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally and build strong relationships across teams
  • A good sounding board for others, with low ego, and ability to anticipate the needs of the executive team
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently within a fast paced and rapidly growing environment
  • Process-oriented, with high level of attention to detail
  • Customer service-oriented and ability to partner with individuals at all levels
  • Highest level of integrity in managing confidential information
