The Market Director is responsible for successfully managing all components of the state/plan contract including operationalizing all support departments to align with the company goals and objectives of the customer, while meeting all Key Performance Indicators. This position will be the primary face of Veyo with the local customer/state representatives and is expected to champion the company’s core values.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contract adherence and KPI execution
  • Hire a team of exceptional leaders and employees to support the execution of company and state/plan objectives
  • Serve as a trusted leader, providing oversight for all contracted transportation services in the assigned markets
  • Responsible for managing the market P&L and ensuring financial health and that company targets are met
  • Identify “on the ground” challenges and remove barriers to provide superior service while escalating when necessary
  • Develop and execute strategies to educate local healthcare facilities and other stakeholders about Veyo; own local public relations, as well as key relationships with special interest groups, legislators, and 3rd party providers to create superior community partnerships
  • Manage a local team to develop and manage an active transportation provider network including both third party and independent drivers that are qualified and responsive; meet with key transportation providers to ensure quality of service, compliance, and proper capacity is maintained
  • Handle all fiscal obligations; work with accounting and company leadership to align business model with profitability and analyze and optimize all revenue and expenses
  • Understand Veyo’s proprietary systems and collaborate with internal Product, Data Science, Platform, and Mobile teams to ensure that those tools are used to their full potential
  • Work with Legal & Compliance team to understand all operational, legal, and regulatory requirements to ensure that they are factored into operational plans
  • Anticipate and attack problems before they occur; never settle for satisfactory but always strive for extraordinary
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business or economics, MBA highly desirable
  • 10+ years of operations experience, managing a group/site of 50+ employees, preferably with a technology-enabled company with large scale physical operations/logistics. 
  • Experience with owning a P&L responsible for at least $20M of annual sales.
  • Experience working for a transportation company; highly desirable 
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence effectively in-person, via email, and over the phone
  • Have experience navigating complex political and business problems and building consensus with stakeholders and internal business partners in a professional, solution-oriented manner
  • Highly analytical, comfortable working with data,statistics, and business modelling.
  • Comfort with a variety of online and mobile technologies
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to track numerous details
  • Flexible to accommodate changes in the business, strategy, and technology
  • Willing to travel 30% or more as needed
