Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Regional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and local CFO's the Market Materials Management Director oversees operations at all hospitals in the regions and the Materials Managers report to this position. The Market Materials Management Director ensures efficient and optimal operations in local supply chain activities including: optimization, physical logistics, planning/scheduling, materials management, and flow, in order to meet expected customer service of their clinicians while meeting or exceeding Corporate Supply Chain savings targets. Provides leadership thru team concepts, coaching, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management, and development at all sites. Drives a culture of accountability and results based on strategy deployment and effective operations management. Develop and implement standard processes of the daily operations in all facilities. Ensures quality services with the focus on people, organization, process, and optimizing information technology. Responsible for educating and driving lean enterprise systems throughout the market supply chain. Position will manage the complete material control process including materials management and purchasing. Will interact with all levels of regional management including clinical operations and finance. Will also oversee planning of future new operations that may come into the market including planning of storage and operations at these potential new sites.

  • Demonstrates competence in required job skills and specific knowledge.
  • Oversight of all operations within the market and assure consistency in the operations by site managers
  • Maintains policy and procedures in the areas of procurement, inventory control, receiving and storage, distribution, and material processing throughout the facility.
  • Maintains good working relationships with all departments in the hospital, by providing the highest level of service, management assistance and open communication.
  • Responsible for daily service levels and root cause analysis for service misses
  • Responsible for total logistics cost and network optimization
  • Review supplier lead times and monitor safety stock programs to meet specified inventory targets for proper inventory management
  • Oversees all Corporate Supply Chain initiatives and product conversions
  • Weekly and monthly finance reports and spend reviews for all sites
  • Establish a plan for optimizing par levels in all warehouses and transferring of inventory locally between sites to avoid spoilage and waste
  • Establish standard operating procedures for all sites and train management team on implemention of supply chain strategy
  • Oversees Cath Lab and IR lab product utiliziation and optimization of SpaceTRAX
  • Oversight of annual inventory for the market and all facilities
  • Pre-codes and submits suggested orders for inventory in an expeditious manner.
  • Maintains surplus equipment and disposal of surplus.
  • Fill in for Materials Director, as needed.
  • Oversight of capital planning and purchasing for market

Performs management activities under the direction of the CFO to include interviewing, hiring, and counseling. Maintains a fair, sensitive, and impartial approach to employee relations.

Complete environmental assessment (for safety) - call light and tray table within reach. State another care team member will be checking in on you or what's next. Complete communication board.

  • Education: HS diploma, Bachelor Degree or 5 years of Director of Supply Chain experience
  • Experience - 5 years of Director experience in acute care setting
  • Certification/Licensure: CMRP
