Valuation Services - Manager - Investment Positions

Position Description

The Valuation Services Manager will serve as a key member of RSM Valuation Services consulting team taking substantial responsibility in performing investment positions valuations for private equity and credit funds, business development companies and other transaction-related valuations.

Our investment position valuation team performs valuations for private equity, private and public credit, options, and warrants investment positions. These services are provided to assist clients primarily with their quarterly mark-to-market valuation requirements as well as to support other facets of mergers, acquisitions and dispositions; taxation planning and compliance; financial reporting; and bankruptcy and reorganization.

The professional will work closely with the practice leader in key business development initiatives. The professional will frequently lead conversations with fund executives and should have a solid understanding of private fund structure and capital markets.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related area of study

• 5 - 7 years of investment position valuation experience (preferably from a global or national firm environment)

• Proficiency in MS Office and CapitalIQ

• Excellent financial modeling and writing skills

• Good communication skills

• Ability to travel as needed or requested

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience performing investment position valuations with a public accounting firm, valuation boutique, or investment fund

• ASA or ABV credential, CFA, or MBA a plus

• Proven ability to manage staff on projects of varying sizes, along with a passion for developing and retaining talent

• Demonstrated ability to work independently to interface with client management, gather facts, organize data, analyze financial statements and other financial data, and identify relevant issues

• Cultivate and maintain positive, productive, and professional relationships with colleagues and clients
