GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Manager, Technical Literature, will guide the technical writing team and work cross-functionally to provide technically accurate, well-designed, and innovative technical literature in support of residential HVAC equipment and their associated accessories and controls. The successful candidate must have the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate the ability to leverage leadership, decision-making abilities, and technical aptitude to assist in meeting customer needs. Foundational skills for this role include project management, team management, general technical aptitude, and general business management skills.

We are seeking an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who is eager to think outside the box and present the organization with new and creative ideas while leading our technical literature team. This role will be critical in formulating a strategy to continue the progress of evolving our technical literature.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for leading the development and growth of a team of technical writers, including performance evaluations, career planning, and driving department goals.
  • Oversee the creation and updating of all technical documents, including inbox installation instructions as well as service manuals, product data sheets, warranty, and price pages.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, product managers, and other internal departments to develop best-in-class technical support materials, streamline processes and execute on projects.
  • Improve the standards of existing literature while developing talent, standards documentation, and driving quality improvement initiatives to become best in class in Technical Literature
  • Ensure the team is producing high-quality content in a timely manner while driving consistency across models and product lines for increased efficiency.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the residential HVAC industry and the company's products
  • Support literature changes volume and complexity due to 2023 Regulation and 2025 Refrigerant changes.
  • Investigate and implement inbox literature page reduction initiatives to drive cost savings.

TYPICAL EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of technical publications experience
  • Master's degree with 3+years of technical publications experience


KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working of knowledge of Adobe FrameMaker as well as Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Ability to lead a team of people and inspire them to go outside their comfort zone to try new ideas and learn new skills
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of the HVAC business and literature development
  • Passion for servicing customers. Ability to listen to customer needs and quickly act to solve their problems, go above and beyond to exceed their expectations.
  • Proven ability to execute with speed and exhibit a bias for action mindset.
  • Ability to think outside the box, innovate and implement progressive, sustainable solutions.
  • Strong ability to work in diverse, cross-functional project teams to achieve high levels of performance in a dynamic, changing environment. Successful experience with collaborating and working in a matrix environment.
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to work with a sense of urgency under demanding deadlines
  • Highly efficient project management abilities and the ability to balance multiple projects
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Understanding of residential HVAC applications and market dynamics preferred
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrates self-initiative, sense of ownership, quality, and customer satisfaction orientation
