Description

Your Opportunity

At New Relic, docs are essential to our product experience. Our docs team members are technologists, word lovers, outstanding writers, and fabulous people. They need a fantastic manager.

We love talking docs. We care deeply for the people we manage. And technology and data make our blood race. If that sounds as exciting to you as it does to us, let's talk!

What You'll Do

You'll work with a team of writers and layout a roadmap for cool, useful docs that make users better at doing their jobs, not just at using our products.

  • Recruit, support, mentor, and retain writers.
  • Guide a collaborative, agile team as they write, improve, and architect our docs.
  • Design quarterly goals and content strategy that connect your team's work to the broader vision.
  • Collaborate with other docs managers, UX leaders, and product managers to solve problems and keep our team aligned and on track.

Your Qualifications

Must have:

  • You've led docs projects at a SaaS software company. 2+ years of experience managing writers, or 5+ years as a writer.
  • You're a thoughtful writer and editor.
  • You've managed projects in an agile environment.
  • You know how developers think and communicate, and what tools they rely on and love. Our products are built by devs for devs!
  • You genuinely care for your people, and you'll mentor our writers to take their careers and skills to new heights.
  • You've got a strong opinion about the Oxford comma.

Nice to have:

  • You're familiar with user research and/or UX design. As members of Experience Design, we're here to nurture user-centricity across the company.
  • You've edited and authored content in a static, GitHub-based site.

Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

We're looking for bold and passionate people to be a part of our mission to create more perfect software. We'd love to have you apply, even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement.
