About Us

Pangea offers a smarter way for people to move money around the world to friends and family. Founded in 2012, Pangea started with a mission to revolutionize the remittance industry by providing customers a powerful, easy-to-use mobile application to send money internationally. Since then, we have grown to offer additional products and services to help underbanked immigrants gain financial independence.

Pangea operates as an independent subsidiary under Enova International (NYSE: ENVA). Also headquartered in Chicago, Enova is a leading financial technology company offering accessible credit to millions of customers. Together, Pangea and Enova are on a mission to help hardworking people get access to fair financial services.

As Pangeans, we value introspection, accountability, empowerment, excellence, and above all, kindness. We believe in a fierce dedication to customer experience. We know that diversity is the key to innovation and creativity. If you have a growth mindset and you thrive under pressure, you’re a great fit for our team!

As Manager of Strategy & Operations, you will report directly to Pangea’s COO and be responsible for driving Pangea’s performance and continuous improvement of operations. Projects can range from short-term immediate impact projects, like analysis of an A/B test or new marketing campaign, to defining success for long term strategic initiatives, such as a new product launch. The best part? Our team is big enough to have the resources to successfully scale the business, but small enough that a single team member has the autonomy to make a meaningful impact. That means you can make your mark.

What you can expect:

  • Creative, fast-paced, and demanding environment
  • Emphasis on innovation, optimization and data-driven decision making
  • Interaction with the executive team on a daily basis
  • Challenging work and opportunities to develop technical, management, and leadership skills
  • High-growth team and company, which means ample opportunities for career advancement
  • Meritocracy, results driven environment

As Manager of Strategy & Operations, you’ll get to:

  • Monitor and report on company growth, showing a deep knowledge of the business drivers that impact revenue, margin, CAC, and LTV.
  • Work directly with PMs to understand the business impact of new features and prioritize initiatives to maximize growth.
  • Partner closely with marketing leadership to advise on growth strategies and opportunities to optimize campaigns.
  • Perform financial forecasting and market analysis in order to develop a competitive intelligence strategy.
  • Cultivate relationships with cross-functional teams within the organization, building credibility to influence decision-making.
  • Analyze monthly performance and provide strategic insights to C-suite.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate with external partners and collaborate with internal tech development teams to ensure that projects meet business requirements.
  • Run ad hoc projects that are often data-intensive and require comfort with numbers to make decisions.
  • Build and manage a team of analysts to support planning and analysis.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance.
  • 7+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, strategy, or project management at a high-growth company.
  • Strong analytical skills. You have the ability to tackle problems logically and make a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong project management skills. You create alignment between internal and external partners to achieve flawless execution.
  • Bias toward action. You are constantly pushing for clarity and execution.
  • Proficiency in Excel.

Bonus points if you have:

  • An MBA or advanced degree.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other programming languages.

Pangea is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status.

We have a motivated team that is eager to take on any challenge.

What makes someone successful on your team?

What I love about Pangea is that it continues to be a place that rewards hard work and initiative. For those who can thrive in an ambiguous environment and take ownership to solve problems, Pangea offers a fantastic opportunity to see the impact of your efforts.

Josh

COO

How do you empower your team to be more creative?

You have to encourage a culture of trying new things. For people to be creative, they have to be allowed to think outside the box, and to do that they have to be OK with failure. We have to be introspective and get better each time, but failure is part of the process. That's the only way to get better.
