Position Summary

The Manager Services/Practice Manager ("PM") is responsible for organizing and promoting the pursuit of new projects relating to their practice focus. In this role, you will work with engineers, architects and client stakeholders to build, and implement an exciting variety of mission critical applications.

Essential Functions

  • Review, understand, and support company policies and procedures.
  • Work with company management to establish annual goals for the Practice (team utilization goals, revenue goals, profit goals, and definitions for the types of projects to be targeted).
  • Work closely with the sales team to meet or exceed the annual revenue and profit goals of the Practice.
  • Work with sales team to create a successful process for marketing practice-related services.
  • Manage the tasks and objectives of the Technology Leaders assigned to the Practice.
  • Report back to Services leadership the status and findings of the Technology Leaders assigned to the Practice.
  • Accompany sales personnel on sales calls relating to potential new projects involving the Practice domain.
  • Work with sales team to prepare and deliver any follow up material required for practice-related sales calls (e.g.- proposals, white papers, prototypes, etc.).
  • Work with sales team to improve and keep current all practice-related sales and marketing materials (e.g.- presentation deck, case studies, "Best Practice" methodology documentation, etc.).
  • Stay current on all relevant product and technology changes relating to the Practice.
  • Keep track of all client practice-related projects and report status back to company management.
  • Assist Project Leaders/Technology Leaders in preparing project plans.
  • Assist in the identification and selection of consultant training programs. Also perform quality reviews of external training vendors and record results.
  • Participate in the new employee interview process for candidates targeted for the Practice.
  • Attend weekly Operations Meetings. Participate in resource planning discussions and new project staffing decisions.
  • Attend monthly Management Review Meetings and present monthly revenue vs. target report as needed.
  • Assist in any Corrective Action Plans that arise in any practice-related projects.
  • Perform high-level consulting duties (e.g.- large project planning, architecture evaluations, project management, preliminary design, etc.) as time allows.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and 6+ years experience; or 8+ years experience in a related field.
  • Experience, interest and adaptability to working in an Agile and/or Lean delivery environment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write proposals, marketing literature, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various levels of client management including Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers, and users.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a one-on-one situation, giving positive support as well as constructive criticism to a team member.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, proposal processes, and clients located in several sites.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage or assist in managing multiple projects relating to the Practice.
  • Review and approve all project related deliverables.
  • Lead by example, providing career guidance and a development plan for all practice-related employees who desire.
  • Assist in the performance evaluation and review of each practice-related employee semi-annually.
