Manager, Security Operations (Squad Manager)
This position will oversee the daily operations of their respective functional unit. Managers guide the successful delivery of managed security services to our customers with a focus on technical proficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. As part of a larger team, the Manager, Security Operations must work collaboratively with other deepwatch leadership, Project Managers, customers, and sales to run our industry-leading service offerings. This position can be a remote / virtual position working from a home office.
Managers are self-motivated professionals able to get up to speed quickly on complex issues and prioritize accordingly while maintaining high attention to detail. A successful manager will prove themselves as an effective leader, provide exceptional customer service, possess expert verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate keen judgment and critical thinking while under pressure. Managers are able to successfully operate with moderate direction and support, and use discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
Position Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide a functional unit within managed security services in accordance with industry best practices and standards
  • Lead and develop a rapidly growing, remote team of cybersecurity professionals as they deliver 24/7 managed services
  • Provide alternate solutions to complex security problems
  • Critically analyze security operations for process improvement
  • Trusted advisor to customers for cybersecurity operational challenges
  • Manage client expectations for deliverables and functional unit milestones to maintain high customer satisfaction
  • Function as a point of escalation for customers
  • Ensure the highest amounts of customer satisfaction are included by default and delivered at all times
  • Provide security consultation and guidance for internal customers, business units, and executives
  • Provide input to the forecasting of technical needs and solutions for budgeting
  • Oversee the production and dissemination of analytical and threat products and the surrounding systems supporting those products
  • Develop and deliver Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) both internally and externally
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partner on talent management processes including recruiting, hiring, staffing projections, and performance management including talent assessments, succession planning, and performance reviews
  • Support deepwatch Delivery and senior leadership as needed
  • Represent the deepwatch brand and company to customers, prospects, and vendors
  • Acts as a role model of deepwatch's Core Values, and coaches and encourages others to model these values
  • Embodies the deepwatch Leadership Attributes of ownership, delivering results, hiring & developing the best talent in the industry, having backbone and ability to disagree and then commit, and earning trust

Requirements
Required Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience in Cybersecurity Operations, with preference for MSSP
  • Experience leading/managing a Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in computer science)
  • Experience developing and maturing SOC programs
  • Demonstrated track record of sound decision making, taking ownership and delivering results in a leadership role
  • Experience managing complex issues, and coordinating solutions across multiple business lines
  • Strong technical writing skills for customer or executive audiences
  • Expert communications skills, including a mastery of the English language both written and spoken
  • Experience utilizing mass communication/corporate notification systems and case management systems
  • Experience working in fast paced environments and the ability to manage workload even during times of stress or escalated activity
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen in accordance with applicable laws


Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • 5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity Operations
  • 2+ years leading and managing a SOC
  • CISSP and Advanced Certification in Incident Response
  • Previous SOC Analyst experience
  • Ability to interpret technical information and present it to executive-level leaders
  • Experience with executive level briefings
  • Prior experience setting and managing budgets for small and mid-sized teams
  • Certifications in forensics (host and network), incident response, and malware analysis
  • In depth understanding of cyber technology solutions (endpoint, email, network, etc)


Colorado Candidates:
Minimum salary of one hundred twelve thousand dollars + stock options + benefits. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
