Manager, OpenStack Cloud Operations
Job Profile Summary
Responsible for providing technical leadership and direction with good business understanding to the Product Management team working closely with the Engineering team. High degree of influence over the product direction.

Key Responsibilities
Provides review and creative vision for improving existing products and for launching new products.
Provides strategic direction and strongly influences the direction of the product line.
Provides technical domain expertise in the areas of Compute or Networking to the product line.
Performs hands-on, design, and prototype services.
Acts as a resource for the Product Manager and Technical Product Manager working closely with engineering.
Utilizes knowledge of capacity needs and data center architecture to help plan capital expenses accurately
Knowledge
Excellent strategic thinking skills with the ability to provide value input on a global scale.
Must also be very pragmatic, and help drive and clarify what is needed today.
Have good judgment and the right personality to earn the respect of both product management and engineering.
Ability to present architecture and highly technical products to senior leaders or customers, as needed.
Ability to influence others both internally and in the external technical community.
Understanding of both the technical and business aspects of the role.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. Ability to work and promote inclusiveness in team settings.
Skills
Strong background in programming to API contracts
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Experience
A minimum of 10 years of experience in Compute or Networking technologies working as an Architect or similar role required.
Domain expertise and experience in either Compute or Networking (Compute domain expertise includes working with Hypervisor technologies, Linux and Windows Operating Systems, Insight into CPU, Disk and Memory performance under workloads and the compute services like backup; Network domain expertise includes knowledge of L2 & L3 technologies, Firewalls, Access Control Lists, Understanding of Data Center Network Infrastructure including Routers and Switches).
Experience with RESTFul API is strongly desired
Physical Demands
General office environment. Moderate levels of stress may occur at times. May require long periods sitting and viewing a computer monitor. No special physical demands required. Schedule flexibility to include working a weekend day regularly and holidays as required by the business for 24/7 operations.
Travel
Occasional travel, less than 10%.

The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado applicants for this role is $114,000 –$150,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
