The Manager of Liquor Acquisition will support the sourcing, evaluation, negotiation and execution of liquor-related acquisitions as Gopuff rapidly accelerates its expansion efforts across the United States. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team in an exciting, fast-paced environment. This position will ideally be based in the Company’s Philadelphia, PA headquarters, and can also be located in New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles, and will report to the Company’s Director of Liquor Acquisition. It may require frequent travel.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with members of the Finance, Real Estate, Legal, Strategic Operations and Government Affairs teams;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with small business owners, business brokers, lawyers and other deal referral sources;
  • Identify, analyze, value and execute liquor acquisitions;
  • Organize and coordinate the due diligence process from offer through closing and integration;
  • Support the negotiation of purchase agreements alongside internal and outside legal counsel in parallel with due diligence;
  • Help develop and implement the Company’s strategy for bringing alcohol capabilities to every location feasible;
  • Manage deal pipeline reports and regular updates for various stakeholders throughout the organization; and
  • Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects.

Key Requirements

  • Ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of experience in sales, business development, management consulting, mergers and acquisitions, or other related field;
  • Experience sourcing, managing and executing a high volume of business transactions preferred;
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills;
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized and enjoys solving complex problems;
  • Ability to think creatively with respect to deal pipelines and persevere when met with challenges;
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization;
  • A self-starter with the ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thinking;
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization and with outside service providers and referral sources; and
  • Must be comfortable working within a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
