Job Description:

The Manager of Investment Operations is a key member of the investment oversight team for the Fidelity Investments Charitable Gift Fund ("Fidelity Charitable") supporting investment oversight and reporting for our advisor managed and donor recommend investment programs.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Investments, Accounting, or a related field
  • At least 5 years' experience in the investments industry
  • Experience conducting portfolio asset allocation, performance, and attribution analysis on large data sets
  • In-depth understanding of public equity investments, specifically options
  • Experience with proxy voting is a plus
  • Superior decision-making skills and the ability to operate with a high level of autonomy across multiple teams
  • Experience documenting and enhancing processes and procedures preferred
  • Strong collaboration, organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Exposure to and/or prior use of reporting and analytics techniques, methods, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, Salesforce, etc), in addition to use of investment performance reporting tools such as Advent Portfolio Exchange.
  • Strong experience using Excel, and working with data


The Team

Fidelity Charitable is a public charity that sponsors the largest national donor-advised fund program. Since 1991, Fidelity Charitable has introduced tens of thousands of donors to the benefits - and increased charitable impact - of using a donor-advised fund to meet their philanthropic goals. Fidelity Charitable is governed by an independent Board of Trustees, which has hired Fidelity Investments as the service provider to the charity. Fidelity Investments provides all the charitable organization's employees and supports all its functions: Program Development, Marketing, Service Delivery, Relationship Management, Finance, Technology, Risk and Compliance, and Fundraising.

The broader Investment Oversight and Operations Team is responsible for oversight and risk management for all assets in the Fidelity Charitable portfolio. The Manager of Investment Operations will work with internal Fidelity Charitable business units and third-party advisors to ensure assets are invested and perform in accordance with program policies and guidelines. Primarily focusing on daily, monthly, and quarterly oversight in addition to performance analysis and tri-annual reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will be integral to reducing risk in our portfolios.

The Value You Deliver

  • Analyze detailed account and composite data to ensure accounts meet program and investment guidelines
  • Partner with service teams to identify and review remediation strategies to bring accounts back into alignment with guidelines
  • Support the analysis and production of quarterly investment presentations to the investment committee, including detailed analysis of account level performance, attribution and security selection
  • Daily oversight of options strategies and related collateral requirements
  • Identify, analyze, coordinate, and participate in the research of investment related issues across accounts
  • Gather, consolidate, and analyze data for proxy votes
  • Responsible for recognizing potential areas of risk and communicating solutions to appropriate team members
  • Ensures the timely and accurate processing of monthly investment oversight processes
  • Focuses on operational processes and regularly recommends changes to improve process
  • Documents and updates policy and procedure documents, as required
