The Manager I - Product Development is responsible for the leadership of a multi-site software research and development team responsible for the development and support of core and peripheral components of Windstream's OfficeSuite cloud services portfolio, primarily thesilhouettecloud VoIP application server, NowMessage voicemail system, and OpenLink media server.

The Manager I is accountable for all aspects of the product management, design, development, and sustaining development of the assigned products. S/he is responsible for the management of a diverse, multi-site team tasked with developing product components of a complex virtualized carrier-grade cloud UCaaS solution. The Manager I must achieve aggressive corporate objectives, while building and nurturing a strong team. Success depends on achieving the optimal balance between short-term tactical and medium to long-term strategic goals.

Required Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:

  • Software product development management of carrier-grade cloud products
  • Comprehensive understanding of software architecture, design, development methodology, development process, test methodology, and sustaining
  • Outstanding teamwork ability
  • Detailed project management, including dependency and risk management
  • Agile project management and release management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • High degree of organization and time management


  • Qualifications - External

  • 10+ years cloud product development or related experience
  • 5+ years leadership / management
  • 5+ years project management / release managemen


  • Required Education:

    1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent

    Job RequirementsMinimum Requirements: College degree in a Technical or related field and 5-7 years professional level experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or 9 years professional level related Technical experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience for roles with supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Technical experience required.
