Position Summary

Avantax Wealth Management, a subsidiary of Blucora and sister company to Avantax Planning Partners and TaxAct is seeking a Manager, CRM Operations that will lead efforts to define and deploy Avantax campaigns utilizing various MarTech platforms. Working closely with the Director, Marketing Operations for TaxAct with a direct reporting line to the Marketing and Sales Operations Director for Avantax, this individual creates, implements, measures, and optimizes multi-touch, omnichannel business-to-business marketing campaigns in support of Avantax. The candidate for this role should be an experienced data-driven marketer who bases journey optimization on data and industry experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collect business requirements for new marketing campaigns from Avantax marketing leadership, while providing consultative guidance.
  • Lead automated campaign design, execution, and testing and optimization, in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Communicate with impact and clarity across all levels of the organization - team, peers, stakeholders, and senior leaders.
  • Managing the development of email and display campaigns.
  • Work in close partnership with Strategy, Analytic, Marketing, and Sales Operations and Creative teams to support campaign design and triggered Lifecycles to deliver against business goals.
  • Manage subscriber databases, import, and segmentation logic.
  • Ensure campaign connectivity to Avantax's Salesforce CRM and business intelligence systems.
  • Update existing HTML and text email templates including dynamic, wireframe templates (URLs, copy, alt text).
  • Assist with quality assurance and end-to-end testing of emails (content integration, link checking, etc.).
  • Support optimization of campaigns to drive key email metrics: CTR, open rate, conversions, etc.
  • Utilize campaign management tools and analytics programs to monitor campaign performance.
  • Help develop creative & landing page testing plans.
  • Provide support and input to the Marketing team with special projects as needed.
  • Adhere to email marketing best practices, strategies, and industry standards to maintain a deliverable email list.
  • Other job duties as defined.



Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, computer science, or a related field.
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Pardot certified.
  • 5+ years of experience in hands-on CRM, MarTech position.
  • 4+ years of experience with Pardot or Marketing Cloud.
  • 4+ years of experience using Engagement Studio and/or Journey Builder.
  • Experience with implementations and/or integrations with other Salesforce Cloud products preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with ESP platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • HTML expertise is a must (without the use of WYSIWYG).
  • Familiarity with email best practices.
  • A/B or multi-variate testing experience.
  • Strategic problem solving & analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to work independently on projects as needed.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle pressure, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously and accurately.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment across multiple teams.
  • Self-disciplined with a strong work ethic and the ability to learn quickly.
