The Service Manager has accountability for ensuring services meet the business need and are delivered in accordance with agreed sevice levelss, managing the service lifecycle. Responsible to managing resources to deliver the IT services which they oversee, and to anticipate and troubleshoot any issues. Role is found within Technical, Operations, Application or Service Desk venues. Position manages activities through direct and indirect staff to schedule resources, provide technical direction, future planning, support, and enhancement practices for IT services. Provides leadership in the design, development, support, and implementation of technology services. Manages scope and prioritization of work assignments, paying strong attention to detail and deadlines. Promotes the use of enterprise tools and development/support standards. Interacts with user community to document business requirements, conduct process analyses, and define conceptual design. Monitors change requests to ensure best practices are being utilized. Ensures team responds to and addresses reported problems pertaining to the service performance and reliability. Evaluates employee performance and provides development and training of staff. Perform other duties as required.

Sentara is looking to hire a Cloud Operations Manager! This position is available for remote work from the following states: Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Nevada Washington, and Indiana.

As a Cloud Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the operations of our cloud-based products in Azure and working closely with Architecture, Infrastructure Operations, and Development teams. The Cloud Operations Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining operational best practices to deploy and implement hosted Cloud systems and all Cloud services to the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • You will ensure effective deployment, monitoring, reporting, security, and life-cycle management solutions services through our hosted environments and proper training on the staff involved in the Cloud Operations.
  • This position is expected to grow over time to incorporate additional responsibilities and opportunities as our cloud infrastructure expands.
  • Evaluate, respond to, and resolve service issues; design tools and automation to prevent problem recurrence.
  • Assist all support teams and services with cloud questions, systems design, problem resolution, etc.
  • Manage security-related aspects of the infrastructure, including compliance with NIST, HIPAA, and other standards relevant to our industry.
  • Work with developers and other engineers to create and maintain the cloud (Azure primarily) infrastructure.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for cloud solutions.
  • Create and maintain automated monitoring and reporting of cloud infrastructure health, performance, and cost control.
  • Responsible for performance management, service and client experience coaching, training, and development of employees.
  • Ensures the team is up-to-date on product functionality, tools, industry trends, and best practices related to radiology workflow and integration.
  • Evaluate the performance of the department processes, report Key Performance Indicators, get customer feedback, keep abreast of the best practices, recommend adjustments and implement changes.



Must have Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of IT experience within a medium to large-sized business (OS, network operations, and monitoring)
  • A minimum of 5 years of Management Experience
  • A minimum of 5 relevant years of experience in Cloud Administration and Management
  • Broad experience with and knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux; Intermediate to advanced knowledge of networking, in particular, building cloud networks and integrating them with on-premise networks securely and reliably
  • Ability to participate in fast-paced DevOps, architecture, and engineering teams within Scrum agile processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • SQL and database experience.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure Certification, such as Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect Expert, is a significant asset
  • Knowledge of containers, orchestration tools, and container management is an asset
