Manager, Chief of Staff--Prometheus Financial Core Product Team
As a Manager, Chief of Staff, you'll join the Chief of Staff team within Prometheus Financial Core Product Team focused on delivering flawlessly executed processes that improve business efficiency and drive results. You will be a thought leader to and collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that have a direct impact on the company's bottom line.
This work is high-visibility and high-impact. Reporting directly into a Vice President of Capital One's PFC Product team, you will work to drive efficiencies, collaboration, innovation and outsized value across the organization. We are looking for a passionate and seasoned team member who loves diving into ambiguous and challenging problems. You will need to be highly organized and emotionally intelligent to work with our leadership team to drive strategic planning efforts, keep a pulse on team health, morale and engagement, and ensure key business priorities are successfully executed. The ideal candidate can connect the dots between good process and great results, effectively influence others to achieve organizational goals, and facilitate a vocal leadership team toward purposeful outcomes. Candidates should be self-motivated, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, executive presence, and a passion for solving complex problems.
Responsible for the facilitation of departmental planning, meeting management and administration, internal and external communications, and the development of programs and processes supporting department strategies. Ensures the department sets and manages objectives aligned with COF objectives. Interacts with and influences senior leaders. Position may include ensuring consistent management of all acquisition integration activities by leading the planning, scheduling, and reporting processes for the department.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in management of SVP's leadership team strategy; including owning agenda for weekly SLT and managing ongoing SLT interactions
• Facilitation of departmental planning, meeting management and administration
• Provide change management support (including communications) to all aspects of organization
• Provide organizational development/effectiveness consultation with business area leadership on organizational design, processes, and strategic planning
Competencies:
The successful candidate will exhibit these competencies

  • Technical . Able to quickly come up to speed on product and technical details, so that you can understand our work, forecast our needs, and communicate effectively with the various stakeholders. (Perhaps a delivery background and some kind of technical education or experience would help meet this requirement)
  • Communication . Knows what and when to communicate to the team. Seen as empowering the team, driving useful communications related to the business. (delivery, ADL, product background might help here.)
  • Organized . Naturally organized. Able to create the framework so that a multi-step, multi-stakeholder process may be smooth, deliberate, thoughtful well managed process. (familiarity with governance documents, governance processes, risk processes, technical delivery artifacts like FMEA would all be indicators of this skill.
  • Influence . Able to engage product and tech leaders in an appropriate and productive manner to drive understanding and alignment/ action.
  • Resilience. There will be obstacles. You have a "Get it done", positive attitude that sees obstacles as a learning opportunity for next time. You have an appropriate tenacity and patience that helps you drive tasks to completion with a smile.


Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree or Military Experience
• At least 2 years of experience in Project and/or process management - Experience managing visible projects which require the ability to manage cross-functional team members, remove obstacles and influence appropriately
• At least 2 years of experience in Communications planning and development, including department communications, leadership team meetings, presentations, memos and reports
• At least 2 years of experience in Staff management and training
• At least 2 years of experience in Organizational development and performance
• At least 2 years of experience in Budget management
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in business, finance or organizational development
• 5 years of experience in Project and/or process management - Experience managing visible projects which require the ability to manage cross-functional team members, remove obstacles and influence appropriately
• 5 years of experience in Communications planning and development, including department communications, leadership team meetings, presentations, memos and reports
