Cloud and Network Services

Cloud and Network Services is a leading Nokia business group that offers Network solutions on Core, Business and Enterprise segments, as well as Cloud solutions and Cognitive Services. It is a newly formed business group, that includes most of the former Nokia Software business, Nokia's enterprise solutions, core network solutions including both voice and packet core, and managed and advanced services from its former Global Services unit. This unit will also act as a delivery channel of certain products from other business groups to enterprise customers. Cloud and Network Services (CNS) will target growth by leveraging the industry transition to cloud-based delivery, network-as-a-service business models, and software-led value creation.

The CNS NAM Market Services is seeking a high functioning Line Manager to lead resource engineering for one of our largest and most innovative service provider. This critical role 'seeds' the program teams with critical engineering talent to deliver with the highest quality and timeliness to exceed customer expectations. As a technical leader proficient in CNS Core solutions, you will lead expert engineering teams augmented by Global Services and 3rd party vendor SMEs. In addition to your technology strengths, you have strong interpersonal and soft skills to work across a large organization matrix of PM/TPM with the goal of delivering high quality timely solutions that exceed customer expectations. You are a disciplined manager who coaches and inspires the team to "Get it Right First Time"

Core CNS Applications are Cloudified/Native Cloudified (VNF/CNF) and a strong understanding of multivendor Cloud technologies is required (Cloudband, NCS, VMware, AWS) You will be working with PM/TPM/Integration Leads/Solution Architects from local and Global Delivery Centers and will need to be flexible and adaptable to working styles, cultures and time zones.

Your skills and experience

Responsibilities.

  1. Line Management and leadership for a team of 15 - 20 SME engineers
    1. Team utilization - manage team to ensure optimal usage
    2. Competency & Knowledge Development - continually drive team competency to align with latest technology that are relevant to job needs
    3. Innovation and Serviceability - continually inspiring your teams to drive innovation and serviceability especially in the areas of Automation.
    4. Lead by Example
  2. Resource Engineering for key service providers - Engage with program teams in a leadership role on Custom and Blueprint deliveries.
    1. Development of Custom products can be done 'in house' or by 3rd parties. You should have previous experience in leading development teams
    2. Delivery of Blueprint Solutions - this is primarily a resource engineering task where you identify and engage engineering talent to meet r
    3. Work in close collaboration with program teams to identify and address resource needs
    4. 3rd party sourcing to supplement customization and delivery - you should have experience working with 3rd party vendors to deliver tasks based on a work package model.


Experience and Qualifications

  1. 2+ years of experience leading technology teams of 15 - 20 engineers -- you have experience leading engineering teams developing custom software solutions and delivering both custom and blueprint solutions in a matrixed multi-functional organization
  2. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to directly interface with Customer Senior Managers.
  3. Highly Desirable: Previous experience as a Technical Lead/ Technical PM / SA (note the emphasis on 'Technical') leading projects deliveries for Nokia customers' core telecom networks. This requires a deep understanding of core network architectures including SDM, IMS, EPC and core 5G. Nokia is delivering complex software systems so an excellent background & deep understanding of software, API integration, RFC requirements with previous 'hands on' experience developing and managing telecom software programs is required.
  4. Strong working knowledge of Cloud technologies including Native Cloud, VMWare, AWS
  5. A minimum BSEE/BSCE/BSCS degree. Masters preferred.
