A Brief Summary of This Position:

The Associate Leadership Development Specialist supports the organization's global leadership development programs. The incumbent will support a team of globally dispersed facilitators by providing tools and resources that will ensure program consistency, effective application and thorough delivery of the program to all Valmont leaders. They will also compile and report metrics in measurement of the program including course completions, facilitation schedules, ROI measurement and participant and leadership feedback.

Our leadership development program is both highly customized and ever evolving to meet our business needs, and you will be heavily involved in content creation, modification and communication, serving as a first point of contact for many stakeholders. The incumbent must be comfortable acting in multiple capacities, such as a program administrator, coordinator, and instructional designer.

Essential Functions:

  • This position reports to the Director, Talent Management and has no direct or indirect reports
  • Domestic travel expectations (including overnight stays) up to 10%
  • Coordinates, monitors and reports on leadership development training activity for the organization
  • Builds and maintains a schedule of training for existing leaders and new leaders to include current and future leadership development programs
  • Maintains a dashboard of metrics that support the organization's key leadership development strategies that drive business results
  • Provides training to others on technologies that allow for distance learning
  • Creates and/or customizes leadership development content
  • Supports special projects as needed



Other Important Details about the Role:

  • This position supports employees across multiple countries in multiple time zones, may need to support training or meetings early in the morning or evenings during the work week



Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in relevant field or Associate's degree with 1+ year of relevant experience or 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal forms
  • Analytical skills and interest
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, including overnight stays



Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing or a similar industry
  • Prior experience working in a large national or multi-national organization
  • Knowledge of instructional design and/or adult learning principles
  • Ability to speak multiple languages (such as Portuguese, Spanish, Mandarin, French or others)



Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Up to 10% travel requirements for this position, domestic. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
