Role Summary

Mavenir has an immediate requirement for Lead Support Engineers for deployment, validation and support of our various NFV based and virtualized products like TAS, ePDG, RCS,IMS, and AAA. As a Lead Engineer you will be responsible for providing on-going customer technical support for various customers and deploying Mavenir solution across Americas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and Technical Support for Customer Trials, Proof of Concepts (PoC's), Lab Validations & Production Network Deployments
  • Participating in and driving customer network design with sales engineering & business development teams
  • Executing customer network acceptance test plans for VoLTE/VoWifi/RCS networks (IMS, TAS, EPC, ePDG, AAA,RCS)
  • Reviewing product readiness and associated documentation, based upon customer requirements.
  • Compose Customer Acceptance Test Plans based on the feature requirements and Solution description documents
  • Identifying and driving resolution of any shortfalls in deployed nodes.
  • Negotiating certification and deployment project plans with company and customer project management teams.
  • Technically driving overall customer acceptance activities, resolving any delays in schedule
  • Compose Method of procedures (MOPs) for lab/production activities
  • Install, configure and administer systems in both lab and production environments
  • Managing lab validations and production deployment integration efforts
  • Serve as onsite support and participate in lab trials and certifications and provide subject matter expertise during integration.
  • Manage escalations, provide root cause analysis, workarounds and bug fixes for issues during integration phase.
  • Must be familiar with standard customer support protocols including but not limited to outage handling, ticket management procedures, on-call rotations etc.
  • May be required to work outside of standard business hours depending upon the business need.



Job Requirements

  • Interpret technical standards including 3GPP, IETF, GSMA, ANSI and ITU to drive product implementation and testing.
  • Exposure to 5G Core Network Architecture & Principles is a big plus
  • Familiarity with OpenStack is a strongly desired. Should understand Cloud Technologies (Vmware, KVM, Containers, Kubernetes/Docker etc. at a high level).
  • Must be familiar with IMS call Flows, able to use standard and use standard network debugging utilities.
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks (Ansible etc) is a plus.
  • Ability to Perform end-to-end call flow testing for Voice over LTE, Voice over Wifi, Data Calls etc
  • Experience in testing interoperability and features of TAS, IMS, HSS, P-CSCF, PCRF, MGCF
  • Familiarity with 3G networks and protocols (MAP, IS41) / high level understanding of GSM/CDMA network components, functions and flows.
  • In connection with such duties, utilize packet tracing tools (including IRIS Session Analyzer, Wireshark, tcpdump) to troubleshoot issues in the scope of deep packet inspection, latency, packet-drop, QoS, IMS interfaces (including Sh, Mw, ISC, CX, S6a, S11, SGI, CX, GM, RX, SY, GX, and GY), protocols (including TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, RTSP, ICMP, DHCP, TLS, NTP, SMTP, DNS, SIP, SDP, Diameter, HTTP, Telnet, and MIME), LTE, audio and video codecs (including AMR, AMR-WB, AMR-NB, PCMU, PCMA, and h.264), and transcoding functions (transcoders).
  • Working experience with Linux platforms is mandatory requirement.
  • Scripting (in bash/Perl/Python) ability is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SQL commands.
  • Familiarity with distributed databases like Couchbase, Cassandra, Swift is preferred.
  • Familiar with IP networking concepts ( TCP, UDP, IP, VLAN, IP Subnet)
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the the time
