L&D Sr. Manager/Director

This role will be primarily responsible for designing the learning system to assess overall manager effectiveness, conducting a needs analysis to define key manager competencies to support the growth and development of managers across key transition points, and partner with external vendors to develop a curriculum to help managers develop these competencies. Additionally, you will be a key partner to support the facilitation of org-wide training driven by business need, team effectiveness sessions and supporting the development and implementation of new programs.
You will:
- Conduct a needs analysis across all teams to identify critical management gaps
- Manages the development, roll-out and ongoing support of people manager programs and capabilities including new manager onboarding and learning interventions for key transition points in a manager’s development (i.e. leading others, leading managers, leading functions, etc.)
- Ability to operate effectively across strategy development and more tactical execution of work
- Develop the tools to assess manager effectiveness across teams
- Design the manager learning journey to improve people manager capability across GRAIL with an emphasis on the manager as a coach. As part of this, recommend the appropriate learning modalities to foster an effective learning environment both in an in-person and virtual learning environment
- Facilitate virtual and in-person learning programs (in partnership with learning consultant)
- Partner with the DE&I leader to incorporate inclusion and diversity practices into people manager programs.
- Consult and partner with People Partners to understand business needs and to ensure effective roll-outs of learning programs across teams
Your background should include:
- 8-10 years experience managing and facilitating L&D programs
- Bachelors degree
- Experience designing an L&D strategy at the team and/or company wide level (level of experience will dictate appropriate leveling)
- Experience implementing targeted manager development programs with clear demonstration of ability to grow and develop internal talent
- Ability to connect strategy and approach across programs to business needs
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Strong project/program management skills from concept, design, planning, implementation, and measurement of results
- Strong stakeholder management skills - proven ability to develop relationships at all levels in an organization
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills - comfort in developing compelling presentations to gain alignment on program strategy
- Demonstrated ability to coach leaders effectively
- Experience implementation programs globally
- L&D certifications helpful - DISC, MBTI, Insights, 360@ feedback, etc.
- Experience in designing/sourcing effective diagnostic tools to support needs analysis and targeted learning/training interventions across teams
