Job Description
The Lead Director, Business Information Security will act as the Business Information Security Officer (BISO), serving as a trusted security advisor to their assigned line of business. This individual will provide leadership, executive support, strategic and tactical guidance for a world-class enterprise cybersecurity program. As a business enabler, the BISO is an effective communicator with the technical aptitude to drive security fundamentals into aspects of the business. The BISO understands security risks, threats, vulnerabilities, control frameworks and security technologies and translates the impact in business terms.
The BISO must be capable of working closely with senior management, third parties, project managers and business subject matter experts (SMEs). Additionally, the BISO must be client oriented and able to translate cybersecurity issues to business leaders.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities include:
Serve as a trusted advisor with business unit leadership and act as a liaison to ensure cybersecurity practices are built into business unit initiatives for the entire lifecycle
In conjunction with security risk management and business leaders, define & report key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics aligning with business initiatives and deliver them to non-technical teams in terms that are accessible and comprehensible
Drives risk management strategy by designing business unit security objectives , communicating the vision, driving accomplishments and outcomes
Maintain up-to-date technical security knowledge related to security threats, vulnerabilities and mitigations set forth to reduce the attack surface; circulate this knowledge through the business units. Stay abreast of new laws, regulations and standards, and assess their impact to the business.
Negotiate to remove complexity and obstacles that hinder efficient security controls enterprise-wide and provide motivation to business units to adopt cybersecurity controls and engages with internal and external stakeholders to educate on control requirements and communicates impact of policy changes
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 120,000
Maximum: 265,000
Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of information security or related experience
5+ years of leadership experience
3+ years' experience working with business leadership and enterprise projects.
Deep understanding of 2 or more security control frameworks and alignment to key regulations (examples: NIST, ISO, HITRUST, HIPAA, PCI) with applicable knowledge of national and global cybersecurity practices.
Demonstrable experience with understanding business focus and processes and ability to inject cybersecurity into the business through teamwork and influence.
Demonstrable experience with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and varying personalities and adapt management style to effectively reach mutually beneficial outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of:
- In-depth knowledge of multi-cloud service provider security technologies, implementations and best practices
- Demonstrated understanding and comprehension of a wide range of cybersecurity technologies & solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of Enterprise Risk management concepts
- Able to attain and preserve credibility with the team through sustained industry knowledge.
Skill in:
- Strong project management, multitasking and organizational skills.
- Negotiating cyber security data protection and security schedules
- Risk mitigation & technical remediation requirements
- High level of integrity, trustworthiness and confidence, and able to represent the company and security leadership with the highest level of professionalism.
Ability To:
- Influence external stakeholders to achieve win-win security outcomes for the business and clients
- Capable of working with diverse teams and promoting an enterprise-wide positive security culture.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Able to motivate the cross functional team to achieve excellence, and give credit and recognition where it is due.

Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience
