Our work depends on a Knowledge Management Specialist joining our team to support Customer activities at Herndon, VA.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Knowledge Management Specialist supporting the Customer, you will be trusted to work on innovative solutions that will transform and enhance the Enterprise IT environment to meet the growing global mission. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Analyzes detailed business/functional/technical requirements and specifications for the application (and related application system components) as input to application design and coding
  • Codes internally developed applications and/or configuring commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications using programming, scripting, and database languages
  • Supports application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements
  • Designs and establishes configuration management documentation
  • Authorizes the release of drawings and changes specified by Program Management and other functional groups
  • Provides advice and guidance on methods, procedures, and requirements to individuals responsible for the creation of documentation
  • Builds and develops application tables/panels/reports, and codes individual modules and complex functions for a client/server enterprise application
  • Integrates software, develops external interfaces, and maintains technical documentation
  • Designs and develops most aspects of data conversion
  • Collaborates with other departments to implement best practices for release tools and process and improve productivity
  • Acts as a liaison between Program Management and other functional groups to resolve issues regarding configuration analysis documentation
  • Ensures the integrity of builds and artifacts to support
  • May act as a consultant across multiple programs and/or contracts within a division
  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
  • May serve as a team or task lead
  • Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in Configuration
  • Works independently under limited supervision.



WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's Degree (in an IT-related field)
  • 6+ years or relevant experience
  • Technical skills
  • Current TS/SCI clearance with an active Polygraph



REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively as a member of an integrated team and the ability to negotiate reasonable compromises among a diverse group of stakeholders with diverse opinions or diverging strategies
  • Knowledge of Federal Government and Commercial Industry best practices to include emerging cyber security capabilities and their application
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Agency Enterprise IT systems to include the Intelligence Community Integrated Technology Environment (IC-ITE)
  • Demonstrated record of good judgment and problem-solving skills necessary to make reasonable security
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, with the ability to clearly express technical and complex strategy concepts to peers and seniors
  • Team and mission-oriented self-starter requiring minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, technically challenging area; ability to anticipate and manage changes or problems; assess impacts and make sound recommendations
  • Strong desire to utilize new technology to meet mission needs, quickly research new technology, and derive larger themes from disruptive technology
