Responsibilities

With limited direction, an IT Systems Architect II is considered a technical leader and a member of the Section and Division Leadership. He/she is expected to assist in instructing, directing, and assisting other staff, both within and outside their immediate work unit.

Effectively works with other staff as assigned to investigate and resolve problems.

Has responsibility for technical architecture and recommendations related to overall ServiceNow systems operations.

Is expected to serve as a top-level technical contributor with advanced knowledge and experience in the area of ServiceNow administration and integrations.

Maintains a high level of technical expertise and studies ServiceNow products and services to identify those which best meet the needs of the Mayo Clinic.

Proactively seeks out and recommends procedures and policies that will improve the workflow both within the work unit and across various work units and sites.

Processes and maintains a strong working knowledge of several multi-platform technical environments.

Volunteers to assume leadership roles to direct and coordinate the work of other staff.

Willingly volunteers to participate on workgroups, subcommittees, committees or task forces, providing leadership in the technical design, selection, and application of the information systems resources to satisfy complex system requirements that meet the needs of Mayo Clinic.

Consistently demonstrates commitment to meet deadlines and priorities and sets a good example for others to emulate.

Works effectively across departmental organizations gaining consensus of stakeholders and willingly participates in major technical decisions that help set the technical directions for Mayo Clinic.

It is expected that this position will serve on institutional committees and/or workgroups and provide consultative expertise in their area of expertise.

Will likely be asked to provide consulting services or act as an information resource and/or mentor both internally and externally to the work unit

Schedule Details

Typical schedule is weekdays, 7 AM to 4 PM or 8 AM to 5 PM

This position is 100% remote within the United States. Mayo Clinic will not sponsor or transfer VISA's for this position.

Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of demonstrated technical experience and 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience or an Associate degree plus 9 years of demonstrated technical experience and 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience or an HS/GED plus 11 years of demonstrated technical experience and 3 years of demonstrated leadership in a large, complex organization like Mayo Clinic may be considered in lieu of the degree.

Additional Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess the following knowledge and experience with the ServiceNow platform:

Description Detail:

  • Responsible for analyzing and translating business information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve complex business outcomes within Mayo Clinic's ServiceNow platform.
  • Driving solid ServiceNow Instance health by reviewing and guiding the remediation of configurations that do not align to ServiceNow best practices.
  • Advocate/champion ServiceNow's advisory and expert services best practices and industry use cases with key Mayo Clinic stakeholders and customers.
  • Guide Mayo Clinic project teams down a prescriptive solution design and manage through the technical implementation decision points.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL Processes Change, Release, Incident, Problem management
  • Experience utilizing agile methodologies with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, ability to present complex technical material to a variety of audiences.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of ServiceNow platform experience is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge or experience implementing ServiceNow's CSDM.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise workflow Platforms.
  • ServiceNow Administrative or Developer Certification preferred.
  • 2+ years Large ITSM Program experience leading architecture and design.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant technical discipline.
  • Advanced level experience in managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications.
  • Experience in system hardware design, ordering, configuration, testing and implementation of large/complex projects.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Systems Analysis and Design.
  • Advanced level experience with large scale Project Management.
  • Ability to establish, maintain, and communicate a technology vision within an Information Technology discipline
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational skills, problem solving skills, facilitation skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel within the organization and across multiple sites.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills using English.
