We are looking for an experienced IT Support Specialist to join our team in San Diego, CA. As an IT Support Specialist, you will provide customer facing technical resolution with end users for computer hardware support, mobile devices, and tablets. The individual must have broad knowledge of all IT software/hardware related issues and the ability to diagnose and solve these issues. You will troubleshoot multiple platforms including Mac, Linux, smartphones, tablets, and in-office network equipment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide customer service to an end user base with regards to primarily Mac and Linux computing functionality, questions, diagnostics, assistance, and consultations in one on one or group situations via in person, phone, email, and video conferences, etc. 
  • Day to day operational maintenance of all internal IT infrastructure, in office and cloud based.
  • Participate in efforts to develop, push, troubleshoot and report on patch levels and compliance using Jamf Pro.
  • Configure, install, customize, maintain, test, and troubleshoot software/hardware systems with minimal direction.
  • Coordinate and manage moderate size technical projects such as OS upgrades, dual factor authentication, EoL migrations.
  • Troubleshoot PIV and authentication issues.
  • Document and monitor processes and procedures necessary for operational compliance.
  • Assist with internal initiatives as needed.
  • Assist with budgeting of software/hardware systems and review software package requests to eliminate redundant systems.
  • Assist with implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.

What You'll Need

  • 3+ years supporting/troubleshooting Mac/Linux Desktops (GUI and command line)
  • 3+ years troubleshooting skills and customer support skills.
  • Experience with the Jamf Pro MDM platform; Jamf 300 certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of experience
  • Knowledge of the macOS directory structure and various alternate macOS boot modes
  • Experience with macOS package management systems MacPorts and Homebrew
  • Familiarity with CIS, NIST, FISMA or other standards and benchmarking
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated, flexible, self-directed, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as working independently in a dynamic environment is required.
  • Ability to be in the office full-time (San Diego, CA)
