As an IT Sr Manager of Compute at Micron, you will be responsible for managing the on-premise Corporate Windows, Unix and Virtual Infrastructure as well as leading the global Compute technology standards.
You will partner with the IT worldwide counterparts, architects, and program/project managers to build strategic and operational objectives, to ensure adherence to service and operational level agreements. You will serve as a conduit for demand and resource management, balancing people and budgets towards desired outcomes. You are responsible for business and regulatory compliance activities for the services worldwide.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day project oversight and execution
  • Provide technology vision and leadership
  • Maintain OLA and SLA agreements with other Micron Business Units
  • Maintain global collaboration with the other Micron IT operations teams, both internal and external
  • Participate with Enterprise Architects to establish and execute capability roadmaps for the services
  • Drive service improvements from existing or potential third-party providers by reviewing and analyzing contracts, quotes, upgrades, and cost/benefits of the services offered
  • Continuous Improvement - implement policies and processes for monitoring, measurement, reporting and continuous improvement of service and component availability
  • Financial Management - Oversee budget and management of assigned cost centers
  • Talent Management - Develop talent through mentoring, coaching, succession planning and retention strategies


Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • 5 years of leadership experience with on-premise Enterprise HW Compute teams
  • Past technical experience in Unix, Windows, VMWare and Enterprise hardware compute systems
  • 10 years of experience building and managing geographically distributed teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at level of the org
  • Advanced knowledge in ITIL disciplines


Preferred qualifications:

  • Technical knowledge on the following technologies:
    • Private Cloud and/or Red Hat OpenShift Container management platform or similar Kubernetes like system
    • Citrix App and Desktop virtualization or similar technology
    • Windows Server and Active Directory
    • VMWare virtualization platform
    • HP, Dell, Cisco, Lenovo, etc. server hardware platforms
    • Enterprise Storage solutions
  • Experience in Public Cloud infrastructure
