About the job
The Red Hat Internal Audit (IA) team is looking for an IT SOX Auditor to join us in Raleigh, NC or remotely. In this role, you will gain broad knowledge of global operations and run SOX 404 and internal controls testing programs. You will work closely with Red Hat's Business Controls team, global process owners, external auditors, and other key stakeholders to plan and perform annual testing of IT SOX controls.
What you will do

  • Collaborate with IA SOX team to perform effectiveness assessments of IT controls and business systems; complete or review SOX testing for IT general controls, IT application controls, and key reports identified in the walkthrough process
  • Collaborate with operational and financial audit associates to assist on audits, consulting, and special projects requiring IT input
  • Audit and consult on a wide variety of IT systems and processes and provide well supported recommendations on both governance and technical issues
  • Research and assess deficiencies identified, work with management to identify action plans and follow-up on remediation activities to verify resolution
  • Identify opportunities to streamline key control testing and data collection utilizing automation
  • Proactively interact with management and key stakeholders to coordinate testing and align expectations; collaborate with the Business Controls team and external auditors to minimize disruption to the business
  • Maintain awareness of internal controls and audit trends to assure test processes remain effective
  • Be adept in balancing the dual role of independent, objective assurance provider and consultative business partner; guide continuous improvement on internal audit engagements


What you will bring

  • 1+ year(s) of experience in audit or risk management positions, with responsibility for coordinating with management and external auditors
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in information systems,business, or related field
  • Public accounting experience; IT auditing experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with best practices and standards like Information Technology Information Library (ITIL), Control Objectives for IT (COBIT), and ISO 27001
  • Understanding of best practices for information security and data privacy
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to quickly assess business processes and solve complex problems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated exceptional leadership ability and team building skills
  • Commitment to quality, willingness to challenge current practice and innovate, continuous improvement mindset
  • Relevant professional certifications like CISA, CISSP, CIA, OR CPA are a plus
  • Working knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion, Business Objects, and Splunk applications is a plus
