A DAY IN THE LIFE

The Integrated Business Planning (IBP) program is one of the most important global initiatives at Medtronic. The program will deliver a new Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process and innovative IT solution across operating units, regions, and functions. The new process and solution will enable key stakeholders in Commercial, Finance, and Operations/Supply Chain to create ONE end-to-end plan for the business using a planning application built on Anaplan. The new process and IT solution will improve revenue forecast accuracy, customer service, inventory, capital management and allow teams to proactively mitigate risk.

The IT IBP Program Director is responsible for working with Sr. Director/VP level counterparts in Finance, Operations, Commercial, and IT organizations on a day-to-day basis to plan and successfully lead the delivery of multiple phases of this multi-year program. This role will be responsible for all aspects of IT including planning, scoping, requirements, architecture, development, user acceptance, rollout, hypercare, and support transition. This role will have knowledge of Commercial, Finance, and Operations/Supply Chain IBP business planning processes and experience implementing the corresponding IT solutions so the role can provide leadership to the integrated team. This role will provide oversight of the program and will identify issues, mitigate risks, and escalate resolution as needed. This role will be responsible for communication with business stakeholders including the executive committee. This role will report directly to the IT BRM of Global Finance.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

 

  • Lead 100+ member program team, including IT and business employees and consultants, to define, scope, plan, and execute program workstreams.
  • Responsible for delivering the solution on time, on budget, with quality and high customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate with VP and Executive Committee (EXCOM) stakeholders regarding program details, status, escalations, and risks.
  • Manage a $40M IT budget in FY22 and estimate future funding requirements.
  • Work with business stakeholders to develop a successful change management and adoption program.
  • Manage the delivery of multi-million dollar fixed price contracts with vendors and system integrators.
  • Advise on the development of an ongoing operational support plan for business and IT.

 

MUST HAVE

 

 

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant IT experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant IT experience with 7+ years of managerial experience

NICE TO HAVE

 

 

  • 15+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 13+ years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience planning and delivering multi-million dollar global IT programs that deploy new standardized cross functional business processes, ideally IBP, S&OP, and/or FP&A.
  • Experience implementing configurable planning applications (ideally Anaplan or similar platform) and integrating it to enterprise applications (e.g. SAP ERP, Data Warehouse, and Advanced Planning Systems).
  • Experience leading, managing and negotiating with system integrators to deliver on commitments.
  • Excellent leadership, presence, and executive communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must be a self-starter and results driven. Must be able lead through ambiguity and act with urgency.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodology.
  • This role may be filled with a remote resource (work from home). The ability to occasionally travel to Minnesota locations is a plus, if Covid guidelines and rules permit.
