Job summary
The IT Document Management and Collaboration team at Red Hat is looking for an IT Platform Owner for our internal intranet-based on the Igloo Platform to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for creating roadmaps and continual improvement plans for our intranet users. You will provide subject matter expertise ensuring business fit and platform implementations are effective.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Track major use-cases for the platform by understanding the existing platform capabilities and business requirements
  • Provide leadership and guidance to delivery and business teams to ensure agreed availability, supportability, and operational capability for all platform applications
  • Identify platform enhancements including non-functional, lead business case approval process, facilitate communication of roadmaps, and ensure stakeholder engagement
  • Work collaboratively with business stakeholders and operational teams to lead prioritisation of changes and lead defect backlog prioritisation
  • Build and maintain a relationship network with key stakeholders
  • Maintain an understanding of the current and emerging business plans and strategies as they affect the platform applications
  • Share knowledge and expertise to support business change; release planning and deployment activities
  • Help to provide training and documentation within the department
  • Review and approve estimation and impact assessment activities to support capacity, capability planning, and key system documentation
  • Serve as a point of escalation for platform-related defects and major incidents
  • Own and manage relationships with the platform vendors


Required skills

  • Experience with designing software systems
  • Technical background; willingness to constantly ask questions and improve work processes
  • Experience working with software delivery teams
  • Experience with stakeholder management
  • Solid decision-making capability
  • Ability to see the bigger picture
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills
  • Degree in computing and engineering or an equivalent
  • Experience with enterprise-level software delivery
  • Experience with systems architecture
  • Background in software development
  • Experience with Igloo, Confluence, Drupal, Elasticsearch, Apache Solr, or Lucidworks Fusion is a plus
