We’re looking for a Lead IT Client Engineer to join Snap Inc. Working closely with the Information Technology team, you will play a critical role in building and scaling our internal client management infrastructure. In this role, you will help build the technical roadmap for the Client Engineering team, set and review code and PR best practices, mentor junior team members, and interface with key partners from Information Security, Engineering, and IT Infrastructure. 

This person must exhibit a high level of professionalism in providing excellent customer service and exercise sound judgment to provide timely resolution of problems. They must understand the office culture and maintain excellent relationships with global customers, business partners, and IT team members. 

What you’ll do:

• Partner with IT and Security leaders to assess and set the technical roadmap for the team

• Mentor and develop engineers on your team, with a focus on upleveling technical skills and overall team best practices

• Scope medium and large projects effectively and drive on-schedule delivery

• Architect, engineer, and support image creation, application deployment, system configuration, patch management, and encryption for the entire fleet

• Identify ways to improve efficiency, eliminate manual work, and scale services that leverage tools and automation

• Hold a high bar for code quality and standards by reviewing, approving and providing feedback on code submission by your team and peers

• Act as a primary contact for processing security requests that affect the client fleet, and orchestrate threat remediation at scale

• Keep up with industry best practices, trends, and standards 

• Be an advocate of knowledge sharing across IT and Corporate Security

• Investigate solutions that may work well for all three major platforms (macOS, Windows, Linux)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• An engineer who is a quality coder and can author tools that improve developer capacity and productivity.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong organizational and task management skills

• Strong knowledge of desktop/enterprise security best practices.

• Proficient at scripting (e.g., zsh, Swift, go, Powershell, Python).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience

• Prior experience in a technical leadership role

• 5+ years of technical experience managing and administering multiple platforms at an enterprise scale

Preferred Qualifications:

• macOS management experience using a combination of open source and commercially-available tools (Chef, munki, AutoPkg, Santa, JAMF, DEP, osquery)

• Expert knowledge of endpoint management tools & practices for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

• Proficiency administering macOS, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android operating systems

• Experience managing environments with 2500+ endpoints.

• Experience deploying and managing binary authorization systems (such as Santa) at scale

• Experience administering mobile device management (MDM) systems such as JAMF, Workspace One, MobileIron, Fleetsmith, Maas360, MicroMDM, Moysle, etc.

• Networking fundamentals and support experience.

• LDAP and Active Directory experience.
