The Advisor is responsible for understanding, documenting, and supporting current and future business solutions specializing in the support of Oil and Gas Measurement solutions. This role will investigate and identify the cause of data inconsistencies. The Advisor will define and document business and technical requirements for use in creating reporting solutions to address gaps in the associated business processes. The Advisor will work closely with business users on the investigation of application issues and determine root cause. The Advisor will leverage IT resources (people, systems, and technologies) to support the multiple measurement functions using extensive querying skills. This role will also utilize established change management and status reporting policies. This role will likely expand beyond Oil and Gas Measurement into other team-supported solutions (e.g. SiteView, WellView, Quorum, ProCount, Aries, DSO).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support to all FlowCal, TestIt and ProveIt users: corporate and field offices
  • Support of other team-supported solutions as needed
  • Support the implementation of software, new features and systems upgrades
  • Supports measurement data system tools and reports that analyze both imported and manual volumes and liquid quality data, to ensure accuracy and balance in all units of measure
  • Support the maintenance of meter and volume information in measurement data system for company assets
  • Support all aspects of compliance with applicable SOX and internal measurement specifications, codes, safety standards and operating procedures
  • Work with measurement team in conjunction with third party interconnecting companies to insure timely and accurate measurement data exchange
  • Work with field measurement operations to insure timely meter calibration reporting and data transfers to corporate data repository
  • Responsible for field application installations and configurations
  • Support reporting and integration of measurement volumes
  • Assist with data loading and integration of acquired assets
  • Assist with population of custom data fields in the measurement system database
  • Work closely with measurement application vendor on all reported issues and resolution
  • Support automated Importing of meter text files, CFX files, and TESTit report files
  • Responsible for Account Administration for all users in the volume measurement system.
  • Leverage existing tools (Reporting, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Teams, etc.) to solve issues.
  • Perform and document analyses to understand, investigate and resolve data and system issues and inconsistencies.
  • Partner with business users to define requirements and make recommendations on how to enhance, refine or re-engineer business processes leveraging technology.
  • Communicate support requirements to other IT teams (Integrations, DBAs, Business Intelligence).
  • Document design and data changes; create testing documentation for business users.
  • Occasional after hour telephone and computer support.

  • Experience with data and reporting tools (SQL Server, Oracle, Crystal, Spotfire, Power BI, SSRS)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Ability to multitask and adjust priorities based on business needs
  • Strong customer-service orientation with business user support and training
  • Flexible in considering solution alternatives
  • Works well with ambiguity. Self-directed, good follow through to completion
  • Experience investigating data issues, determining inconsistencies, and working on integration solutions



Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in IT Analysist or Data Analysis role specializing in support of Oil and Gas.
  • Strong SQL Server/Oracle skills mandatory (writing queries, creating views, stored procedures, and event triggers).
  • Extensive experience investigating data issues, determining inconsistencies, and working on integration solutions.
  • Experience supporting business end users
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical resources to ensure successful project outcomes
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test



Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in Business, MIS, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Oil and Gas industry experience
  • FlowCal, TestIt and ProveIt experience



Physical Requirements

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity is sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
