Job Description
The Inventory buyer will purchase vehicles under the direction of the Inventory Acquisition Manager. You will purchase through analysis of market trends and previous sales data, you will  determine actionable list prices and collaborate with the Pricing and Inventory Team to determine acquisition strategies 
The ideal candidate will have experience in both customer-facing and used car pricing roles. The position requires implementing a data-driven process and seeking improvements. You love a challenge, solving problems, technology, and getting things done. This requires significant relevant work experience and excitement about the opportunity to join a fast growing startup.Responsibilities: 

  • Be responsible for all aspects of the purchase.
    • Ensure achievement of volume and quality / performance targets
    • Own end to end processes: auction schedules, execution by stakeholders (list generation, previewing, bidding, list reviews), policies (eg CR and mileage cut-offs)
    • Own Auction acquisition guidelines
    • Review inventory health, give feedback learnings and collaborate with Acquisition Manager to help the team with auction acquisitions infrastructure and tools improvements
  • Help with developing relationships with potential fleet partners
    • Help with assessing performance of pilots and propose roadmap for scaling of profitable channels
    • Coordinate acquisition / intake volumes jointly with Auction Acquisition Manager for volumes by market
    • Maintain day to day and long term relationship with counterparts and partners
  • Support team in developing and executing pricing and inventory management strategy, for existing and new markets
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Growth teams in developing and executing Inventory and Growth strategy for markets

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of used car pricing experience
  • 2+ years in a highly analytical role
  • At least 1 year in an operational role
  • Inventory management experience
  • Training experience (recruiting experience a plus)
  • Team player
  • Creative problem-solver who is comfortable operating in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • You do the analysis and are ready to implement - no analysis paralysis, things are moving too fast
  • Experience with handling strong personalities with strong opinions - you’re ready to push back when needed
  • Deep interest in analyzing data and the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive sound decision-making
  • Able to conduct detailed research and synthesize issues/ solutions for our management team
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required and experience with SQL preferred
  • Experience working in high-growth, performance-focused environments
